I’m not sure if you noticed, but I took a whole week off of blogging/working for the first time since I started over 4 years ago. To say it was needed would be the understatement of the century. Ryan had the whole week off, too and we enjoyed every minute of it. I must say, it did give me a chance to miss writing and taking photos and playing on social media and of course, all of you! It made me so thankful for this community and the friendships I have made with some of you through this. I am playing a serious game of catch up and going through hundreds of emails today, but it was all so worth the break. We were lazy and it was amazing. I haven’t seen our kids so happy in long time and it kind of made me reevaluate things a little bit, but that’s another story for another time. I want to catch you all up on our Christmas!
Weston’s Baby Dedication
It is so hard to believe our little man is 6 weeks old! Time is seriously flying since I had him. He is growing so much and is gaining little thigh rolls that make me so happy! His cheeks are rounding out and he is just the cutest little thing. I could seriously stare at him all day. He is Hampton’s little twin, let me tell you. We can’t get over every facial expression and how much he looks like Hamp. I do think he may have blue eyes, though! I am SO excited!! My other babies inherited my brown eyes, but I am thankful that we will have a blue (or hazel) eyed child like their daddy’s pretty eyes!
Thanksgiving 2016
Thanksgiving this year was hectic, loud, crazy, tiring and completely wonderful! Doing anything with the three kids right now is very difficult. We are still adjusting to life with three and taking them all out is not the easiest. Three kids pitching fits and crying in Target is less than thrilling. Thanksgiving was very tiring because we were going all day, but it was so fun. I love getting to see all of our family in the same day. It is so nice to catch up and let the kids run wild outside. They had a lot of fun, but we went all day without naps, so by the end of the day, we were all exhausted and ready to get home.
Our First Outing as a Family of Five
Our first outing, like mosts peoples, was to the doctor. Hampton and Sophie both had checkups scheduled for today, so we were able to bring Weston for his newborn appointment as well. 3 babies + 3 checkups + 3 shots + no sleep = a lot of fun, let me tell you! When Sophie is tired, she tends to get really hyper and delirious. She was screaming and running all around the waiting room. Hampton was testing me big time, and Weston was okay. He cried a little bit, but for the most part, he did great! Ryan and I struggled because we have only been sleeping about 2 hours a night since coming home from the hospital. Mr. Weston has his days and nights mixed up, but we are working on changing that. We treated the kids to Chick fil A afterwards which made us all feel a little better.
Halloween 2016
Our Halloween was very relaxing this year. I have been having a lot of strong contractions the last few days, so we weren’t able to do as much as I had planned, but it was still a good day. We read a lot of pumpkin books, watched Halloween episodes of their favorite show, and rolled pumpkins around the room. #toddlers We ended the evening trick-or-treating. We took the kids around my parent’s neighborhood and out to see my grandparents who had a treat for them! They did surprisingly well trick-or-treating for the first time.
Birthday Trip to the Zoo
We had every intention on throwing Hampton a birthday party this year, but with our move and the baby coming literally any day, we weren’t able to make it happen. I promised him that we would make it really special by taking him to lunch anywhere he wanted and to the zoo! It ended up being the perfect day to go to the zoo because it was so cool outside! The zoo was all decorated for Halloween which was another added bonus! The kids loved all of the pumpkins! Hampton was totally set on riding the rhinoceros… bless him.
Hampton is THREE
Pinch me! My baby boy is three years old today. In some ways it feels like it has been every bit of three years and in some ways it feels like I had him yesterday. Looking back at photos of him seems like it all just happened, and yet, here we are. Motherhood is funny like that, I guess.
My First Two Under Two Are Kicking My Tail
…It’s true. Even though Hampton is almost 3 now, our little nickname for our first two kids when they are acting like crazy people is “two under two.” The last few days, we have been going non-stop. I have officially hit “I’m about to have a baby and haven’t done anything to prepare” mode, and it happened to hit me about the same time that my kids outgrew all of their shoes, planning for Hampton’s birthday and a million other little things we have going on this week. Adding to our crazy, I have been due for an iPhone upgrade for 2 months now, but because our nearest Apple store keeps running out of phones, it took me until yesterday to actually get mine. We have been checking in every day to see if they had the gold iPhone, and they finally got it in the store, which meant a very last minute trip to Birmingham.

Tis’ the Season for Pumpkin Patches
One of my favorite traditions that I look forward to every year is going to pumpkin patches. Hampton loves it because there are big slides and inflatables as well as pig race,s a corn maze and all sorts of fun activities for the kids. This year was particularly fun because Sophie was equally as excited to slide and jump and pick out a pumpkin! She was a huge fan of the corn boxes, and Hampton, not so much. He just wanted to slide the entire time we were there. Definitely all boy. The weather here is still pretty warm, so it didn’t feel as fall-isa as I would have liked, but we may go to another pumpkin patch later when it cools off a bit more. Why not? I mean, tis’ the season…
Labor Day Weekend 2016
This Labor Day weekend was a busy, but good one! We relaxed Saturday morning and then did a lot of housework/ran errands. On Sunday, we celebrated Ryan’s Nanny’s 93rd birthday! It was such a special time and we enjoyed spending time with his family and celebrating this wonderful woman with delicious food! It was seriously like Thanksgiving. We had quite the feast with some of my favorites! Later that night, we went to watch our local professional baseball team with a group of 20’s and 30’s from our church. The kids seemed to enjoy it and Hampton loved playing on the playground and seeing the train pass by behind the stadium. Sophie tried to keep up with the older boys at one point, but she struggled towards the end, bless her heart. She is definitely very spunky and I’m sure she won’t have any trouble keeping up with her brothers.
