We had a long week last week. Ryan was out of town and Hampton was really sick. We spent the week in and decided to rest. We were all looking so forward to the weekend and trying to get better in time for our little nephew’s pumpkin patch birthday party! Luckily, Hamp is feeling much better now. We were able to enjoy our fun weekend with family and celebrate our sweet Waylon!

Happy Monday, friends! We have had the craziest week! Ryan was out of town last week, I have STILL been sick and poor Pippa is still at the vet. She is improving, but she is very sick. My kids threw my laptop and it has not been working right (since my lack of posting over the last few days) and our house is disgusting after Pippa’s sickness. Not to worry, we have carpet cleaners coming. Until then, I am wearing shoes in my house. All the time. We also had the boys’ Lumberjack party at the pumpkin patch this weekend! THAT was my highlight and saving grace of the entire week. Spending time with friends and family and getting my mind off of all of the craziness of the week was just what the doctor ordered.

One of my favorite traditions that I look forward to every year is going to pumpkin patches. Hampton loves it because there are big slides and inflatables as well as pig race,s a corn maze and all sorts of fun activities for the kids. This year was particularly fun because Sophie was equally as excited to slide and jump and pick out a pumpkin! She was a huge fan of the corn boxes, and Hampton, not so much. He just wanted to slide the entire time we were there. Definitely all boy. The weather here is still pretty warm, so it didn’t feel as fall-isa as I would have liked, but we may go to another pumpkin patch later when it cools off a bit more. Why not? I mean, tis’ the season…

Last weekend, we took the kids to Dreamfield Farms Pumpkin Patch for Hamp’s birthday. We had such a good time picking out our pumpkins, but the biggest hit for the birthday boy was by far the inflatable slide. He was a little obsessed. I love capturing SR’s first pumpkin patch experience and seeing our son have so much fun! It was definitely a great weekend.

My only complaint was that we went early and it was STILL blazing hot. Why can’t Alabama feel like fall during the season? I was determined to make it at least look like fall, but don’t let the scarf fool you, it was hot. In fact, I ditched the scarf moments after this photo was taken and the hair went up. Hamp thought that the wind blowing my hair in his face was so funny. I love this boy so much and still can’t believe he is 2! I am one blessed mama.

What a weekend! Seriously, this was one for the books! Thursday night, we went to a local benefit dinner and heard Ben Carson speak. I have been in love with his story since seeing Gifted Hands last year with Ryan. I was pregnant with Hampton at the time and his story touched me so deeply. I couldn’t get over that it was real. It was so neat to have the opportunity to hear him speak in person.

Friday, my mom, sister and I took Hamp and my nephew to the zoo for the first time. The boys LOVED it. We fed the giraffes, rode the train, and saw so many awesome animals. It was a huge hit!

Saturday, we went to the pumpkin patch with my family. Hampton picked out his very own pumpkin and it was so sweet and special. I’ve always had a thing for the pumpkin patch, so taking Hampton for the first time was a dream come true. We rode the cow tractor and played in a box filled with corn. He slid down the big slide with his daddy and cackled the whole time. My child is a little dare devil. We had so much fun and it was such a blessing getting to spend so much time with my family and sister in particular. I have missed her so much these last few weeks.

Of course, we ended with weekend with a huge Auburn win and Florida squeaked one out as well so we were all happy campers!
What did you do this weekend? Have you checked off anything from your fall bucket list?
