Football season is upon us, friends! I’m not sure if you know this, but college football is a little bit of a big deal in the state of Alabama. If you live here, you just laughed at that, because for most…not some, but most people, it is life. I am not one of those people, however, I do love the sport and enjoy pulling for the Gators and the Tigers. The Auburn Tigers, that is. My sister goes to Auburn along with nearly all of my cousins and I graduated from Auburn Montgomery which is not the same at all, but still. I love my Tigers because I was raised to love them. That’s just how it is. I am so excited to share a cute little game day outfit with y’all!
Labor Day Weekend 2016
This Labor Day weekend was a busy, but good one! We relaxed Saturday morning and then did a lot of housework/ran errands. On Sunday, we celebrated Ryan’s Nanny’s 93rd birthday! It was such a special time and we enjoyed spending time with his family and celebrating this wonderful woman with delicious food! It was seriously like Thanksgiving. We had quite the feast with some of my favorites! Later that night, we went to watch our local professional baseball team with a group of 20’s and 30’s from our church. The kids seemed to enjoy it and Hampton loved playing on the playground and seeing the train pass by behind the stadium. Sophie tried to keep up with the older boys at one point, but she struggled towards the end, bless her heart. She is definitely very spunky and I’m sure she won’t have any trouble keeping up with her brothers.
Chewacla Hike
We spent a beautiful Saturday in Auburn, (home of the War Eagle and Auburn Tigers) with my younger sister who attends school there. It was a wonderful day. We had an indoor picnic (because of rain) and took pictures with Aubie. We enjoyed time with family and friends and later that afternoon we went on a hike through Chewacla State Park. I love Chewacla. It makes me miss living there. If you didn’t know, Ryan and I love to hike. I love being outdoors and working out, so hiking is like a 2 for 1 deal. This was our first mini hike since Hampton has been born and we really enjoyed it. Of course, Hamp was in tow.
After our hike we got cleaned up and went to Toomer’s drugstore for their famous lemonade and then out to dinner at Little Italy (one of our favorite pizza places). It was a great weekend spent with family and friends. Here are a few pictures from our day.
Of course we couldn’t go hiking without Simon. |
We can’t be on rocks without doing a little yoga, duh. |
What did you do over the weekend?
Game Day
For those of you who weren’t around last year, fall is my favorite time of year. I am a little obsessed with the lovely leaves changing, pumpkin spice lattes, scarecrows, pumpkins and pumpkin patches, sunflowers, the cool nip in the air, and most importantly, Football. You have to be if you live in the south. After all, the SEC is the dominant conference. Sorry y’all, but it’s true. In our house, we are War Eagle fans, but I’m also a Gator fan. Blame it on my dad. Every college football day is a big deal in our household. You will find us eating an excessive amount of junk food and yelling at the T.V (when we aren’t tailgating) every Saturday. Chances are, we are sitting on the couch, I’m trying to squeeze into my Florida jersey and sipping a pumpkin spice latte while watching gameday. Happy game day! Oh, and War Eagle / Go Gators!
