17 Books To Read in 2017

January 18, 2017

I think this is one of my favorite posts of the year. Why? Well, I LOVE to read. It has always been my favorite pass time. Getting lost in a good book is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the every day. After a lot of perusing the new books releasing this year, I have pulled out the ones I am most looking forward to reading! Also, a few old titles to catch up on if you haven’t read them yet.

I’ll be honest, when I was looking at last year’s post: 16 Books to Read in 2016, I realized I didn’t even read half of the titles I had planned on. Of course, we also weren’t exactly planning on having another baby this past year, either. Life sure is funny that way. This year, maybe I will have more time to read and travel. I can normally finish a book when we are road tripping some place and I am planning to travel a good bit more with our family this year.

17 Books to Read in 2017

Books Releasing This Year:

My Not So Perfect Life  Sophie Kinsella

The Summer Seaside Kitchen by Jenny Colgan

The Fifth Letter  by Nicola Moriarty

The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand

The First Time Mums Club by Lucie Wheeler

The Stylist Takes Manhattan by Rosie Nixon

The Summer of Serendipity by Ali McNamara

Crimes Against a Book Club by Kathy Cooperman

See You in September by Charity Norman

I’ll Eat When I’m Dead by Barbara Bourland

According to a Source by Abby Stern

Old Titles to Catch Up On:

The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines I am almost finished with this one and have really enjoyed it. If you are a fan of Fixer Upper, you should definitely read it!

The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck

The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan

Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between) by Lauren Graham

The Idea of Love by Patti Callahan Henry

The Art of War by Sun Tzu – In true fashion I’m ending with another classic this year. I’ve always wanted to read The Art of War and I am hoping I will finally do it this year.

What are you reading this year?

I just read “Reshaping it all” by Candace Cameron Bure, It’s a great book about getting healthy and losing weight – and getting the strength to do it though Christ. I love Fixer Upper so I will look into getting their book!

I haven’t heard of any of these, except the Chip and Joanna book; which I haven’t gotten the chance to read yet. My reads right now consist of those that my daughter will be reading next year for school…we homeschool, so I preread everything to make up questions, pull vocab from, as well as create quizes. I really would love to read a grown up book soon! Ha!

I am always looking for new books to read that are not curriculum. I save up and gobble up books during break. Last spring break I read 5 books – literally, I stayed up just to read because I never have an opportunity during the school year

I always get excited learning of book recommendations. Yet, I never have time (or that I make time for) in my days to read. I want to be more mindful of reading more this year!
