A Look Back At 2019

December 31, 2019

I just teared up looking back through all of our memories from the year for this post. Y’all, I forgot how baby-like Weston was just at Easter of this year. He and Sophie have grown and changed SO much over the last 6 months, and don’t even get me started on Tucker. Seeing those newborn photos and videos of him had me balling. It happened so fast. Time is a thief, but thank goodness for photos. These memories are everything and our year was absolutely insane in so many ways, but even through the chaos, there were beautiful moments. Here is a look back at our 2019…

My sister married the love of her life on January 5th! We were all a part of her day and it was so beautiful and special.

One of my last bump photos before Tucker came! Weston went to my last doctor appointment with me! He was about to not be the baby anymore, but little did I know, he would be smitten with his baby brother and still enjoy lots of snuggles with me despite not being the “baby” anymore.

I love this photo of us! We were laughing so hard behind the camera and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Baby Tucker was THE highlight of our year by far. He is the sweetest baby and has a calm demeanor (reminds me a lot of Hamp). He is a perfect blend of his older brothers. He has stollen our hearts and we aren’t mad about it. <3

Look how baby-like Weston was at Easter! He has grown so much since this photo.

More sweet moments with baby Tucker! We spent that first week bonding and it was something I will cherish forever. I really learned how to slow down, take care of myself and enjoy the moments with him. 4th time’s a charm I guess!

We enjoyed many ball park days with Hamp again this year. He loved playing t-ball again and is looking forward to coach pitch this year! He improved so much from 2018’s season and we are so proud of him.

Sophie’s first dance recital was something we have both looked forward to since she could walk. Sophie is our little performer and loves to dance. She was beautiful and very entertaining. HA

Summer days and beach vacays were another highlight of our year. I love summertime and spending endless days with my babies. Making our own schedule and doing whatever we want every day. It is my favorite. We had such a fun summer of travels and spending time with friends. The memories we made make my heart full and I can’t wait for this summer to do it all again!

My baby Hamp started KINDERGARTEN! Such a big deal! He has thrived and loves his new school. We are so proud of him and all he is learning. He is reading so well and writing one “comic book” after another these days. It is his favorite pass time.

Our sweet Tucker William. He is growing so much, y’all! We will be celebrating his first birthday before we know it. He is 9 months now and is crawling everywhere and pulling up. It’s all happening so fast, but I am trying to cherish every moment of this season with him and all of my babies. I will post an update on him soon. It is long overdue.

One thing is for sure. We were faced with several challenges this year. With our jobs, our move, tough and painful relationships in our life and more, but we have learned how to come together through it all. Work it out together, make the tough decisions, have the tough conversations and grow and learn. Mine and Ryan’s relationship has grown and we have gotten so much closer this year. Our hearts have grown so much through the birth of our fourth baby and through all of our experiences – good and bad.

We said goodbye to 4 family members, two of which were too young to go, but it is through these tragedies that you learn and grow and are made aware of what is most important in your life and what you need to let go of. And I have. I’ve learned who my people are this year. I’ve learned who I can trust. I’ve made incredible new friends that are encouraging and loving and I am so thankful for those new friendships. I’ve grown so many old friendships with girls I can go to for anything (and vice versa). I have a loving husband who is there through thick and thin and a loving family who is so kind and supportive. I have four babies who are my whole world and I am excited to keep doing life with them and living all of the experiences. We have some surprises planned for our kids this next year that we are looking for forward to. I am excited to take you all along with us! Most of all, I am so thankful for a loving God. I’ve grown closer to Him this year and nothing compares to that relationship. I have learned how to really lean on Him when life feels like too much or when things get super stressful. I’ve also practiced gratitude more than ever this year and it has changed my heart for the better.

Thank YOU for being here. From the bottom of my heart. I am astonished at the amount of people that read my blog or follow along on social media every year. This hobby has grown into something much more than I could have dreamed and I am so thankful to all of you for that. I’m looking forward to what God has in store for this new year. I’m excited to keep sharing our life with you all, to keep conversating with you guys and to take you along on all of our adventures.

How to Stay on Track with Your Goals All Year Long

January 10, 2018

Keeping New Years Resolutions or staying on track with our goals can be extremely difficult after the new year, new you motivation starts to wear off. For me that is usually around week 3. When that diet starts getting really tough or you are really sore from working out and want just one day off. You know what I’m talking about? This year, I didn’t even start implementing my new year goals until last Monday, so I am still going strong, but I like to think that is in part due to my determination and also to a new yummy protein snack that I will share with you in a bit.

2017 Year in Review

January 1, 2018

I can’t believe another year has come and gone! So many huge milestones were celebrated with my babies, especially Weston in the year 2017. We celebrated 6 years of marriage, 5 years of blogging, dream-come-true collabs (with Madewell, Gap Kids, Carter’s and bob Sweep to name a few), new blog friends, new readers, the start of my newsletter (it’s a work in progress, but I’m tackling it this year so be sure to subscribe in the sidebar!), I joined rewardStyle and so much more! I can not ever express to you how much this space means to me and how much each of you mean to me. I look forward to continuing to get to know you all in 2018 and hope to build an even stronger community. For now, I am going to share my top posts, and top sellers over the course of 2017.

New Years Goals and Plans + A Look Back on 2016

January 4, 2017

I am totally that girl that always says I am going to eat healthy this year, exercise more, read my bible every day, etc. and I do great for a couple of months, but I always give up sometime in February. Exercising is a huge part of my life. I love to run because it helps me manage my stress and anxiety and I have been slowly starting back after I was cleared to exercise a couple of weeks ago. It has felt so good and has already made me feel so much better physically nd mentally. I do have a LONG way to go and a lot of weight to lose, but I am determined more than ever to try to focus on my diet.

Christmas 2016

January 2, 2017

I’m not sure if you noticed, but I took a whole week off of blogging/working for the first time since I started over 4 years ago. To say it was needed would be the understatement of the century. Ryan had the whole week off, too and we enjoyed every minute of it. I must say, it did give me a chance to miss writing and taking photos and playing on social media and of course, all of you! It made me so thankful for this community and the friendships I have made with some of you through this. I am playing a serious game of catch up and going through hundreds of emails today, but it was all so worth the break. We were lazy and it was amazing. I haven’t seen our kids so happy in  long time and it kind of made me reevaluate things a little bit, but that’s another story for another time. I want to catch you all up on our Christmas!

2015 in Review

January 5, 2016

I can’t believe we are nearly a week into 2016 and I am just now writing my first post of the new year. Can you guess why? The new year is bringing many new changes to me and my blog and I m so excited about them. I finally made the switch from Blogger to self-hosted WordPress which I LOVE. This change has been a well thought out decision I’ve been going back and forth on for over a year now, so it was a long time coming. I figured since I am getting more serious about my blog and have turned it into my full-time job, I need to make it look more professional. So, what do you guys think?

2015 was a huge year for our little family. So many wonderful things happened and we were more blessed than I could have ever imagined. Here is a look back on last year:

How To Prepare For A Successful New Year

December 31, 2015

I love this time of year. The holidays are so much fun! Normally, my husband takes time off of work (which never happens) and we are able to enjoy lots family time. After the holidays, I love that we celebrate a new year and make resolutions to better ourselves and achieve new goals. A fresh start in a new year sounds pretty good to me! Here are a few ways to prepare for a successful new year:

successful-new-year

Make a list of all your goals. You had to know that making a list would be on my list, right?  I love my lists. I seriously make them for everything! They are very helpful in making you prioritize what’s important and stay focused on what needs to get done. I am always so much more productive when I have made a list of what needs to be done versus when I don’t.

Make your health a priority. Your health is everything. Whether you are a new mom running on little sleep or a 20 year old college student, your health is vital to your success. Who can be successful if they are in poor shape and feel bad all the time? This is a mental and physical issue. I have found that when you are exercising regularly and eating right, you actually feel better which improves your mood! It’s a win/win!
Clear your mind of negativity and your life of negative things. If a hobby makes you more stressed than happy, send it on it’s way. Life is short, so who has time for things and thoughts that are negative? So you’re not a great cook? (oh, hey, that’s me!) Who cares? You might be a great encourager and friend or a wonderful painter or decorator! Go do what makes you happy.
Clean out your space. It is so freeing when you clean out and clean up a space, is it not? It’s time to de-clutter and de-junk. We have way too much “stuff” anyway. Do we really need 20 purses? Five of which are black? No.
Create a plan to help you achieve your goals. Remember that list you made? Create and organize a plan to help you achieve your goals this year!
Set a budget that will allow you to save more money each month. I’m sure that “saving money” is on everyone’s list of resolutions. But it might as well be on your’s, too. Set your budget a little tighter so that you can save more money this year. Even if it is only $10 a month, it will add up to $120 by the end of the year.I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day! We will probably just be resting at home with the kiddos this year.

If you would not mind taking just 1 to 2 minutes to fill out this short reader’s survey, I would be really appreciative. I would love to hear what you would like to see more of on Logan Can in 2016!

What are your plans? Are you going out on the town, on a hot date or staying home with your kids?
