Labor Day Weekend 2016
This Labor Day weekend was a busy, but good one! We relaxed Saturday morning and then did a lot of housework/ran errands. On Sunday, we celebrated Ryan’s Nanny’s 93rd birthday! It was such a special time and we enjoyed spending time with his family and celebrating this wonderful woman with delicious food! It was seriously like Thanksgiving. We had quite the feast with some of my favorites! Later that night, we went to watch our local professional baseball team with a group of 20’s and 30’s from our church. The kids seemed to enjoy it and Hampton loved playing on the playground and seeing the train pass by behind the stadium. Sophie tried to keep up with the older boys at one point, but she struggled towards the end, bless her heart. She is definitely very spunky and I’m sure she won’t have any trouble keeping up with her brothers.
2016 Labor Day Sales and Picks
This is one of my favorite weekends of the year, not only does Ryan have the day off making it a long weekend for us, there are always great Labor Day Sales! I love to shop sales because I hate paying full price for anything. I love to find a good deal. That’s half the fun of shopping, isn’t it? I rarely pay full price for anything, so I like to rack up on sale weekends. This year I’m focusing on Christmas gifts, but I thought I would share some of my favorite picks from a few of the sales I have listed below. I hope you guys have a great holiday weekend and enjoy a little shopping!
Friday Favorites
It’s Friday which means it’s time for more of my Friday favorites! This week, we have struggled a little bit. Both of my babies have been sick and running a fever the last couple of days. Hamp missed school which made me (and him) sick because he was looking so forward to it. Poor little guy. My Sophie girl has been just pitiful the last couple of days, but I’m praying that today is the ay everyone starts to feel better! It is a holiday weekend, after all! It’s time to get out and explore…or carb load and watch football. either way…which brings me to my first FAVORITE!
2015 Labor Day Sales Picks
Target:
Earn an extra 10% off online through September 7th on clothing, shoes, home items and accessories using code “LABORDAY” at checkout!
Amazon:
Kindle Fire 6% off + Free shipping? Deal! These hardly ever go on sale and I can save $20! I am definitely pulling the “It’s almost our anniversary” card on this one!
For the babies:
We haven’t moved SR into her nursery yet because we need two things: a sound machine and a baby monitor! I was so excited to find these deals on two things we have been putting off buying. Now I know it’s because we were just waiting to save money! I’m also excited to find some Thomas the Train toys that are discounted! They are always so expensive and Hampton has been all Thomas everything for the last 6 months (at least). It will make a great stocking stuffer this Christmas! If you are about to have a baby, you definitely need to snag these Aden and Anias swaddles!
For Bloggers:
If I didn’t just buy a Cannon rebel T3i a few months ago, I’d be all over this deal! Umm, amazing! Also, every blogger needs a good pair of earbuds!
Old Navy:
The entire store is up to 60% off! I am really eyeing this workout tank and these compression tights. They look so comfortable and I love wearing tights during the winter! Oh, and I’m pretty much dying over all of their baby clothes right now. So. Cute.
The Loft:
30% off New Fall Styles and 50% off Summer Sale Items!
I am so excited that corduroy is in again this year! I am a little obsessed with corduroy and I have my eye on this skirt and these pants! I also really love this Henley and this tunic! Tunic + Leggings = my happy place.
Madewell:
30% off fall essentials and an extra 30% off all sale styles
Books A Million:
20% off your purchase of $50 or more with code “WORK20”
Up to 90% off all clothing!
Don’t forget to do all of your shopping through Ebates to earn cash back on all of your purchases! It saved me $200 last year during the holiday season! I will definitely be doing all of my Christmas shopping through them again!
Where are you shopping this Labor Day? What’s on your list?
Labor Day 2014
Hello! Did you know today is “Be Late For Something Day?” Finally a holiday I can get into! haha I am rarely on time for anything these days which is funny because being late used to be a huge pet peeve of mine. It’s funny how having a baby changes things.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend! Our Labor Day Weekend was filled with food and family. We traveled to Jacksonville, Florida where my grandparents live and we stayed for almost a week. We enjoyed the beach a couple of days, caught a few of the labor day sales and ate tons of food. I seriously feel like I’ve gained 10 pounds. Not really, but we ate a lot.
No pants and flip flops – a true beach bum! 😉 |
We watched lots of football and I am excited to say that I am winning my fantasy league after the first week. And no, Ryan did not help me at all. I just have a gut feeling about these things. Or I choose based on team colors…either way. 😉

I loved taking Hampton to the beach one last time this year. He loves the sand and he is warming up to the waves. It had so much fun and was in the best little mood. It made for a really great week.
What did you do over the holiday weekend?
Labor Day Weekend 2013
This Labor day weekend was spent celebrating our family. We started the weekend off by celebrating Ryan’s great-grandmother’s 90th birthday! She is the sweetest and most generous person. It was so much fun to see the family and enjoy time with her.

Later that day, we took a fairly spontaneous trip to Jax Beach. We decided at the very last minute to go. We celebrated my grandfather’s 80th and my grandmother’s 75th birthdays. We surprised them by showing up late that night. The weekend was very relaxing. Pippa seemed to enjoy the trip.
On Tuesday we went to a few used bookstores that we like to hit when we go down there and we hit the jackpot! 22 books for $19! Now we just have to find a place to put them all. We also lucked out and found a highchair for baby H! I’ve been looking every where for an old high chair like this one. It does need to be re-painted, but we have just added that onto our list of things to do before baby. I’m absolutely in love with it! We found it at a yard sale for $20. You can’t beat that!
