This toddler gift guide is one of my most popular gift guides every year. Who doesn’t love to buy for children on Christmas? It is the joy of our little ones that makes the gift giving so fun on Christmas morning, isn’t it? Seeing their faces light up makes me so happy. Something we are teaching our children is to enjoy giving gifts to other children in need even more than they like to receive them. This is a hard concept for a young child, but I believe the more we practice it, the more they will learn from it and start to understand.

I decided to post this guide first so that you can go ahead and know what toys are on the “hot list” this year and go ahead and start grabbing what you need for your children, but I also want to encourage you to buy one (or more) for other children in need this year! Let’s get to it!

Because we are a family who loves the water, it is important to us that our kids learn how to swim at a young age. We have a neighborhood pool that we use often and we have family who lives at the beach that we love to visit throughout the summer months. In fact, we have a trip coming up very soon! Because we want to make sure to keep our kids stay safe near the water, it is important to us that we have done our job educating our kids about water safety and have the proper floats. When you teach your child to swim, it is important to know the proper techniques, and information on the latest safety tips and floats.

Since I quit breastfeeding Weston a few months ago, it has been a real struggle to get him to drink milk. Every time I offer it to him, he throws it down. He simply isn’t interested in it. Because of his age, his pediatrician has told me how important it is that he gets a proper amount of calcium and vitamin D. I have fed him tons of yogurt and offer him cheese, but he isn’t the biggest fan of it (unless it’s on pizza – who can blame him for that?) Finding a healthy toddler snack is a little tricky. At least, it has been for my little guy.

My third baby is almost 18 months old and has already started having tantrums. I remember this time with my older two. They literally go from being a sweet cuddly baby to throwing fits over night and you try to figure out what went wrong, but here is the truth: it is developmental. All kids go through it and it is part of how they learn. They are not good at controlling their emotions at this age and throwing fits is part of how they communicate to you. The good news is that you are not alone, and there are a few things you can do to help avoid tantrums and diffuse them in the moment.

Is anyone else super last minute with their Easter baskets this year? Thank goodness for Amazon Prime! Am I right? Whatever did we do before it? I’m sharing a few things that I ordered for my littles that are really great things to put in any young kid’s basket. They are pretty much my “easter basket staples” every year. In addition to these, I add one or two of my kid’s favorite snacks and one or two things they need (like a sippy cup, pacifiers, socks, underwear, tees, etc.) It makes a pretty good basket. Plus, it really doesn’t take much to please kids. Bubbles alone would do the trick for my babies.

My family loves all things deer. All the men in my family hunt and we always had deer heads hanging on our walls, growing up. I realize this may be controversial or foreign to some of you, but in Alabama, it is extremely common. My mom always had lots of deer mixed in our decor – especially at Christmastime! I love continuing the tradition in our home! While Ryan does not hunt and we do not have deer heads on our walls, I do love adding deer decor where I can. When I saw these deer sweaters, I had to have them for Sophie and me! They are two of my favorite colors and both have the sweetest deer on them!

The time has come! It is officially gift guide season! Get ready for a bunch of new gift guides this year! I’m excited to kick them off with the Toddler Gift Guide – because, let’s be honest, buying for our kids is the best part of gift-giving, am I right? Knowing that we are getting them the perfect gift and seeing their little faces light up once they open them on Christmas is just priceless. I asked you on Insta Stories a while back and you guys helped me with these suggestions, so thank you! I hope these ideas help you out this year as you are picking things out for your kids, nephews, nieces and friends!

We have all been super sick for the last couple of weeks. One by one, we have all caught it and it doesn’t seem to want to go away. Unfortunately, this is the worst timing for sickness because Hampton’s birthday is tomorrow and we have the boy’s party this weekend. I’m also doing it solo this week, so theres that. Send lots of prayers over our way, friends! One thing I like to do when the kids are tired of resting but still obviously feel bad is think of easy activities for toddlers that won’t make them over do it.

Sleep. A word I am becoming more and more unfamiliar with. You know you are lacking sleep when you can’t respond to a question someone is asking you because you literally can’t remember the answer. You know you are lacking in sleep when you catch yourself sitting in the parking lot of your kid’s school unable to drive off because you are literally scared of falling asleep at the wheel. I’ve been there. Still am there, actually. My oldest (who is only three) has never slept. We have had sleep issues with him since birth. People told me it would get better with age. He just had his days and nights mixed up as a newborn. He is just afraid of the dark. He is going through “a phase.” No. He just really doesn’t sleep. I have never seen anything like it. It is so hard to explain to anyone who isn’t here and witnessing it night after night.
