…It’s true. Even though Hampton is almost 3 now, our little nickname for our first two kids when they are acting like crazy people is “two under two.” The last few days, we have been going non-stop. I have officially hit “I’m about to have a baby and haven’t done anything to prepare” mode, and it happened to hit me about the same time that my kids outgrew all of their shoes, planning for Hampton’s birthday and a million other little things we have going on this week. Adding to our crazy, I have been due for an iPhone upgrade for 2 months now, but because our nearest Apple store keeps running out of phones, it took me until yesterday to actually get mine. We have been checking in every day to see if they had the gold iPhone, and they finally got it in the store, which meant a very last minute trip to Birmingham.

It may not have been the smartest thing in the world, but we loaded our kids up in the car – during nap time, and drove to Birmingham. Sophie screamed the entire 3 hours we were driving. It was miserable. She never napped and let the whole world know that she was not a happy camper. Hampton, by some miracle was able to sleep in the car through her screaming. Bless his heart. The trip ended up having great moments, like another stop by Trader Joe’s (because mama was determined) and a stop by Peach Park in Clanton (because daddy was determined). I also finally got my new iPhone and it is beautiful and wonderful. Definitely worth the headache we will probably have the rest of the week.
On a happier note, we stopped by Rack Room and bought the kids some new shoes, so I am happy to say that Hampton is not going barefooted at school this morning! I can’t believe I just bought him some new school shoes in August and he has already outgrown them. The kids are definitely going through a growth spurt.
I am also completely obsessed with my new Fawn Design bag (c/o) I got it in the mail yesterday and started using it immediately! It has so much room in it that I can easily fit all of my things and both of my toddler’s snacks, pull-ups and sippy cups! I adore it and it was really handy when I needed a bag to throw everything in yesterday for our little day trip!
My first two under two have been kicking my tail lately. They have reminded me again this week that they are only toddlers. Sometimes I forget. I have officially started the “I’m about to pop” waddle and have been really hurting again this week. I go back to the doctor tomorrow, so I’m excited to see if I have progressed any more. Lifting my toddlers and climbing up and down the stairs with them has been very difficult this week, so I am hoping and praying that baby boy comes soon! There is also the little fact that he is already as big as my babies were when they were born, so the longer he stays in there, the bigger he will be and it is making mommy a little anxious. I am thankful he is happy and seems to be enjoying himself in there, but we are all really ready for him to come on! Hopefully not too much longer.
How did you handle pregnancy with a toddler?
