I’m not sure if you noticed, but I took a whole week off of blogging/working for the first time since I started over 4 years ago. To say it was needed would be the understatement of the century. Ryan had the whole week off, too and we enjoyed every minute of it. I must say, it did give me a chance to miss writing and taking photos and playing on social media and of course, all of you! It made me so thankful for this community and the friendships I have made with some of you through this. I am playing a serious game of catch up and going through hundreds of emails today, but it was all so worth the break. We were lazy and it was amazing. I haven’t seen our kids so happy in long time and it kind of made me reevaluate things a little bit, but that’s another story for another time. I want to catch you all up on our Christmas!
Christmas with 2 kids is crazy. Christmas with 3? It was a little bit…insane. This year, with church being a part of our Christmas day, it made for a very busy day. We changed things up this year and spent Christmas Eve with my family ending the night with our tradition of going to look at Christmas lights just before everyone goes to bed! It was really fun this year because Hampton and Sophie were both so excite, even though it was WAY past their bedtime. They were real troopers. Christmas day we opened presents from Santa, went to church and then spent the day with Ryan’s family. It was a fun and special day that ended with an impromptu wedding at his uncle’s house! It was so fun and definitely a Christmas that I will never forget.
This Christmas season was made more special because we celebrated Weston’s firsts. His first Christmas and first present and first NYE and first New Years! It was all so exciting and sweet. Our little man is really chunking up and is the sweetest little thing. I could seriously sit and cuddle him all day. Most days, I wish I could d just that because I know all too well that these moments are passing very quickly. My little man will be 2 months old tomorrow! I have no idea how the time flew by so fast, but I on’t like it. I want to bottle up every bit of his sweet newborn-ness and keep it forever. He is starting to smile and coo and it is so precious, but I am already starting to miss that sweet newborn phase. Of course, every new phase is always my favorite, so…
Over all, our children got everything they could have ever dreamed thanks to Santa and their precious grandparents. Our family is so blessed and we are so thankful for everything we have been given. I hope you all have a Happy New Year and go into the year with new goals, plans and in the right frame of mind. You are beautiful, worthy and can do ALL things through Christ. If you know that and believe it, you will have an amazing 2017!
Cheers to a new year!
