Football season is upon us, friends! I’m not sure if you know this, but college football is a little bit of a big deal in the state of Alabama. If you live here, you just laughed at that, because for most…not some, but most people, it is life. I am not one of those people, however, I do love the sport and enjoy pulling for the Gators and the Tigers. The Auburn Tigers, that is. My sister goes to Auburn along with nearly all of my cousins and I graduated from Auburn Montgomery which is not the same at all, but still. I love my Tigers because I was raised to love them. That’s just how it is. I am so excited to share a cute little game day outfit with y’all!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases
Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Day! The sale is finally live to the public and I am so excited about all of the restocks! I want to preface this post by saying I purchased a lot of things at the sale, but I am not keeping it all. I will return probably half of this. The store I went to did not have many of the things I wanted online, and because Nordstrom offers free returns, I went ahead and purchased online and will try it on at home, then decide what to keep and what to return. This year, I was shopping mainly for basics: jeans, tees, cardigans, boots and pajamas (I desperately need some new ones). I like to buy staples and not buy too many trendy pieces. Although, I am sure I will keep a couple of the trendy tops to enjoy throughout the year. So, here are my purchases and my absolute favorite things from the sale!
Thanksgiving 2016
Thanksgiving this year was hectic, loud, crazy, tiring and completely wonderful! Doing anything with the three kids right now is very difficult. We are still adjusting to life with three and taking them all out is not the easiest. Three kids pitching fits and crying in Target is less than thrilling. Thanksgiving was very tiring because we were going all day, but it was so fun. I love getting to see all of our family in the same day. It is so nice to catch up and let the kids run wild outside. They had a lot of fun, but we went all day without naps, so by the end of the day, we were all exhausted and ready to get home.
November POPSUGAR Must Have Box
Special thanks to POPSUGAR for sending me this Must Have Box! #MustHaveBox
I can’t believe Thanksgiving week is already here and November is almost over! This month is FLYING by for us. With our sweet new baby boy and our big move, we have been so busy and it is making the days go by too quickly. This week is no exception. With all the unpacking we have to do, family photos and family coming to town, we have so much going on that I’m hoping my head doesn’t spin off. This weekend, I received my November POPSUGAR Must Have Box and it was a much needed little happy mail that I definitely needed in the midst of our crazy. This one was probably my favorite out of all of the boxes I’ve received in the past. I LOVE every item.
Halloween 2016
Our Halloween was very relaxing this year. I have been having a lot of strong contractions the last few days, so we weren’t able to do as much as I had planned, but it was still a good day. We read a lot of pumpkin books, watched Halloween episodes of their favorite show, and rolled pumpkins around the room. #toddlers We ended the evening trick-or-treating. We took the kids around my parent’s neighborhood and out to see my grandparents who had a treat for them! They did surprisingly well trick-or-treating for the first time.
October POPSUGAR Must Have Box
Where has October gone? My favorite month of the year and it is flying by so quickly. This week has been/will be full of birthday fun for Hamp, fall parties at his school and trunk-or-treat at church! The fun doesn’t stop there. The October POPSUGAR Must Have Box is amazing. I am obsessed with everything in it. There is still time to grab yours for $5 off with code SHOP5!
My First Two Under Two Are Kicking My Tail
…It’s true. Even though Hampton is almost 3 now, our little nickname for our first two kids when they are acting like crazy people is “two under two.” The last few days, we have been going non-stop. I have officially hit “I’m about to have a baby and haven’t done anything to prepare” mode, and it happened to hit me about the same time that my kids outgrew all of their shoes, planning for Hampton’s birthday and a million other little things we have going on this week. Adding to our crazy, I have been due for an iPhone upgrade for 2 months now, but because our nearest Apple store keeps running out of phones, it took me until yesterday to actually get mine. We have been checking in every day to see if they had the gold iPhone, and they finally got it in the store, which meant a very last minute trip to Birmingham.

Tis’ the Season for Pumpkin Patches
One of my favorite traditions that I look forward to every year is going to pumpkin patches. Hampton loves it because there are big slides and inflatables as well as pig race,s a corn maze and all sorts of fun activities for the kids. This year was particularly fun because Sophie was equally as excited to slide and jump and pick out a pumpkin! She was a huge fan of the corn boxes, and Hampton, not so much. He just wanted to slide the entire time we were there. Definitely all boy. The weather here is still pretty warm, so it didn’t feel as fall-isa as I would have liked, but we may go to another pumpkin patch later when it cools off a bit more. Why not? I mean, tis’ the season…
5th Anniversary Weekend and Penelope’s Stories
This weekend was so much fun! In addition to celebrating our 5th anniversary, Thursday night, we went to a dinner with our family and saw lots of friends we haven’t seen in a while. It was a special night. I absolutely adored my dress and this necklace from Penelope’s Stories! I love their shop! They have the prettiest accessories that are great for all occasions. Be sure to check them out on Instagram and Facebook!
DIY Splatter Paint Pumpkins
It is officially my favorite month (technically a week in already) and we are just now starting on our fall bucket list! Better late than never, right? We have a really full next couple of weeks with lots of fun things going on including the pumpkin patch, holiday market, Ryan’s birthday, our anniversary, family coming to visit, etc. We are so excited for all of the fall fun to be had! We will be celebrating Hampton’s 3rd birthday, welcoming our new baby boy and moving into our new house at the end of this month/first week of November, so we have a lot to get in these next two weeks starting with a fun little pumpkin craft! These DIY splatter paint pumpkins were so much fun to make, and the whole family got in on it!
My nephew helped me paint the big pumpkin white, then my brother and Hampton helped me splatter the paint on the pumpkins after I covered them with Hefty Ultra Strong Kitchen Trash Bags with Arm & Hammer Odor Control. I will say that painting with two little boys is no easy task. Sometimes I feel like I need John Cena out there with me to help wrestle them.
Here is how we made the DIY splatter paint pumpkins:
First, lay a Hefty Ultra Strong Kitchen Bag on the surface you are painting on to protect it.
Second, paint the entire pumpkin white or black. After it dries, you will probably need to do a second coat.
Third, paint the stem the opposite color.
After the pumpkin completely dries, cover the top half with a Hefty Ultra Strong bag and rubber band to hold it in place. Put a little water on your paint brush and add it to the paint to help it splatter easier, and then begin to sling paint on the pumpkin. Have fun with it!
Take the bag and rubber band off of the pumpkin and let it dry.
It is a really easy DIY, but it does take a couple of hours because you have to wait for the pumpkins to dry completely before beginning the next step.
The kids enjoyed playing in between our painting and it was a really fun afternoon to spend with the family doing something we all enjoy! Of course, I couldn’t have done it as neat with those boys “helping me” if it had not been for Hefty! We bought our Hefty Ultra Strong Kitchen bags in citrus twist scent and I love them because they have Arm and Hammer patented odor neutralizer and are the best bag Hefty has ever made at a lower price! They have active tear resistant technology for superior strength and have a break resistant grip drawstring. I am happy to report that not one drop of paint got on my white table, so I am a happy camper! Hefty was there to protect my table, and it was there for the big clean-up afterwards! We are also starting to pack a few things to get ready for our big move, and we have already filled a couple of bags with pillows and blankets for easy transport! There is no end to their usefulness.
