Valentine’s Day. A day to celebrate love! It is still one of my favorite holidays, not because of the mushy lovey dove stuff, but because I love to celebrate a good thing, and love is definitely something worth celebrating. I love to celebrate my husband and my babies but also friends, because they are so important. So, whether you are gifting a little young’n in your life, your main squeeze, or your best friend I’ve got you covered! I tried to find affordable gifts, but I did include a couple of splurges if you are wanting (or needing) to splurge this year. Quite a few of these have even been majorly discounted, so you will find some good buys!
Valentine’s Day Gift Guide: For Her, Him and Littles
Spring New Arrivals Under $50
After a week of snow, spring is definitely in the air today. It’s warmer and I can’t help but dream of spring pastels and floral prints! After stalking all the new arrivals from my favorite retailers, I put together this list of items under $50! I am loving the pinks, lavender and sky blues! Even more so, I’m loving those price tags!
Snow Day in Alabama: Part 2
I can’t believe it snowed twice in southern Alabama this year! So crazy! It normally only happens here once every 4 or 5 years, but this has been the best surprise. Of course, in the south we really don’t have the equipment or resources to treat our roads when it snows so it can be dangerous and we end up getting snowed in for a couple of days, but it is really fun to play in the snow when you never get to. It also created a lot of memories for my little family and we got in some serious snuggles by the fire which was nice. I take a good snow day (or three) any day of the winter!
Chili Recipe + How to Make Guests Feel Comfortable on Game Day
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TheOtherBowl #CollectiveBias
I love game days, but especially big game days! There happens to be one coming up and we love to get our friends together to celebrate and eat delicious food! This year, we are making our delicious Cantrell Chili recipe that everyone loves! It is always a big hit with our friends and family. The one thing I think about when serving chili is preparing the other bowl for my guests so they feel comfortable in our home. I would never want anyone to feel awkward, so I like to be prepared by stocking up on Poo-Pourri!
3 Ways to Keep the Spark Alive in Your Relationship
One of our goals this year is to go on at least one date a month. We decided to make this a goal this year because last year, we did not do a good job of doing anything alone. We definitely did not date. It’s sad, I know, but we had three kid’s under three and amongst other things, it just was not easy to get away. While we did not feel that our relationship suffered by any means, we did decide to make a point to spend more one-on-one time together this year because it is important to keep the spark alive in your relationship with your spouse.
My mom out of the blue called me one day to ask if she could come over and watch our kids so that we could go on a date. I can not even tell you how excited we were! We ended up going to a movie (The Greatest Showman – you NEED to see it!) and dinner – just the two of us! It was so much fun and a much needed break from the kids. It was also just nice to get out with Ryan and do something fun for the first time in over a year. Sad, I know.
How to Stay on Track with Your Goals All Year Long
Keeping New Years Resolutions or staying on track with our goals can be extremely difficult after the new year, new you motivation starts to wear off. For me that is usually around week 3. When that diet starts getting really tough or you are really sore from working out and want just one day off. You know what I’m talking about? This year, I didn’t even start implementing my new year goals until last Monday, so I am still going strong, but I like to think that is in part due to my determination and also to a new yummy protein snack that I will share with you in a bit.
18 Books You Should Read 2018
This continues to be one of my favorite posts to write every year and one of my top-performing posts as well, which means you guys love it, too! That makes me so happy and makes it that much more fun to put together! Last year I did not have a lot of time to read. If I’m being honest, I only finished one book all year. Pathetic. So, this year, I have already cracked the books, done my research and put together this list of books you simply must read this year! Cheers to reading ALL the books in 2018!
First up…
I just started First Comes Love by Emily Giffin. It is so good so far and I am falling in love with the characters. I started it last year, but life and kids happened, so I put it down and never picked it back up. I started it again over the weekend and I love it! So, I am adding it to my list. She is, after all, one of my favorite authors.
New Year GOALS for Every Mom
It’s that time again! A New YEAR which means new year GOALS! I love this time of year becaise it feels like we are getting a do-over or a fresh start! I love a clean slate, and I don’t know about you, but I felt like I needed it this month! With all of the ear infections, sickness and busyness of the holidays, I fell way behind on our house up-keep, blogging, Instagram and basically everything else in life. I need this time and reflection and a new set of goals to get back on track. SO, here we go:
2017 Year in Review
I can’t believe another year has come and gone! So many huge milestones were celebrated with my babies, especially Weston in the year 2017. We celebrated 6 years of marriage, 5 years of blogging, dream-come-true collabs (with Madewell, Gap Kids, Carter’s and bob Sweep to name a few), new blog friends, new readers, the start of my newsletter (it’s a work in progress, but I’m tackling it this year so be sure to subscribe in the sidebar!), I joined rewardStyle and so much more! I can not ever express to you how much this space means to me and how much each of you mean to me. I look forward to continuing to get to know you all in 2018 and hope to build an even stronger community. For now, I am going to share my top posts, and top sellers over the course of 2017.

Festive Holiday Skirt and Pink Sweater
I don’t know about you, but I love festive holiday fashion. It is so fun to play around with different colors and textures this time of year. I love all things cozy and comfy! I also like to add a pop of color when I can. When I first saw this sweater in the store, I was instantly attracted to it. It is the perfect shade of bubblegum pink and it is so soft. This skirt is something I am not typically drawn to as a SAHM, but when I saw the colors, I had to have it. It will literally go with anything! Hunter green, mustard yellow, red, pink, black, etc. There are so many beautiful colors in this skirt that make is so festive and beautiful. I love that I can pair so many colors and styles with it. Sweaters, blouses and even the right tee with a cardigan would be so gorgeous!
