This is such a crazy world we are living in with the coronavirus in full swing. I hope you all stay at home and stay safe during this uncertain time. Since we have been stuck at home for over a month, I have had to get creative with a good home workout routine. But everyone knows the best part of working out (and my favorite part) is the great post workout snacks that I am always eager to treat myself to. #foodie 😉

Ryan and I have started running again and I have been doing some other workout videos online as well. I am feeling so much healthier than I did a month ago and I am so thankful for the extra time over the last month we have had to dedicate to our health. I am hoping to take this routine, along with the healthier foods we have been eating, with us moving forward. We have made a lot of positive changes in areas we had gotten off track in during our kitchen renovation (I’ll share it soon).

I recently discovered 3BAR, a healthy post=workout snack, and have fallen in love with these tasty bars! The 3 stands for the three main macros that your body needs for energy – protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. 3BAR has 13 grams of protein and has less than 10 grams of sugar, making this the perfect post-workout snack!

My favorite flavor is the Cocoa Crunch, but my kids love the Tropical Tri! Yes, my kids love them, too! These are not only great for post workout snacks, but they also make great grab and go snack for those busy chauffeur days. I am honestly looking forward to getting back to those again (hopefully soon). Oh, I almost forgot to mention, 3BAR is gluten free, soy free, wheat free, GMO free, trans fat free…you get the picture! They are pretty great and pretty great for you!

You can get more information about 3BAR by clicking here. And don’t forget to use the discount code LOGANCAN for FREE shipping! They also offer a sample pack that you can try for free! It’s a win/win!

Since the start of summer, I have had to completely makeover my morning routine. It’s no longer about getting the kids to school and it’s more about getting some work done before we go play! I have had to implement new strategies into my morning in order to be productive and get things done, but also for my own mental health. Moms need a little time to wake up and get their day started just like everyone else, but we usually don’t have that much grace handed to us. Here is what I’m doing to have productive mornings.

Since I quit breastfeeding Weston a few months ago, it has been a real struggle to get him to drink milk. Every time I offer it to him, he throws it down. He simply isn’t interested in it. Because of his age, his pediatrician has told me how important it is that he gets a proper amount of calcium and vitamin D. I have fed him tons of yogurt and offer him cheese, but he isn’t the biggest fan of it (unless it’s on pizza – who can blame him for that?) Finding a healthy toddler snack is a little tricky. At least, it has been for my little guy.

Keeping New Years Resolutions or staying on track with our goals can be extremely difficult after the new year, new you motivation starts to wear off. For me that is usually around week 3. When that diet starts getting really tough or you are really sore from working out and want just one day off. You know what I’m talking about? This year, I didn’t even start implementing my new year goals until last Monday, so I am still going strong, but I like to think that is in part due to my determination and also to a new yummy protein snack that I will share with you in a bit.

Lately, our older two kids have been so picky when it comes to food. They used to eat their vegetables so easily and now it’s like pulling teeth to get them to take one bite. Recently, I pulled one over on them. I have gotten away with feeding them vegetables without them ever knowing! Here is how I sneak vegetables into our kid’s diets: Feed them Garden Lites muffins!

Since Hampton started school and all of our activities and play dates have started back up again, things have been so hectic. As a busy mom who is constantly running, it can be really difficult to stay healthy all the time. Especially with another baby due any day now. Sometimes, I don’t even think about it. One thing that has helped me tremendously since having kids is implementing some simple lifestyle changes that are very easy to squeeze in without noticing – even while pregnant and craving everything in sight.

I mean, Halloween + Pumpkin + Hocus Pocus + Coffee? Yes, please! Jo from My Thoughts Exactly was on point with this one! Thanks for making my morning, girl!

Lately, Hampton and Sophie have been very possessive with their snacks. A few weeks ago, Hampton taught Sophie how to say “mine” and now it has become kind of a game with them. Not always a pleasant game. Sometimes they are playing and laughing over it, but other times they are really starting to fight over their precious snacks. They sneak each other’s when they run out, “mine, mine, mine.” I guess it’s a pretty normal sibling thing, but it is kind of funny hearing it from a two and one-year old. Toddler snack time is serious, folks.

There are so many changes and transitions that happen in baby’s first year. It can all be a little overwhelming, especially if you are a first-time parent. These transitions have gotten easier for me with our second child and I’m sure it will again with our third. I’m not sure if it’s easier, or I just know what to expect now, but either way, it has been an easier transition year with our Sophie. Gerber made it very easy for us to make the transition to solid foods with our babies.

I gained so much excess weight during my first pregnancy. I did better during my second, but I have been determined to maintain a healthy weight this go-around. The biggest issue I have is my sweet cravings. I have wanted sugar non-stop and it has been really hard to say no. The other day I searched healthy snack ideas and I finally found a solution! I can snack healthy and still have my sweet-tooth satisfied! Finding good snack ideas and choices is so easy if you know where to look!
