I know we have all been there…our kids are sick (or maybe it’s an every night thing) and absolutely nothing you do seems to get kids settled for bedtime. I’ve been there. In fact, I am the one who’s kids seem to struggle on a nightly basis. One night in particular was a little worse. This past New Year’s Eve, Sophie broke out in a terrible rash and was running a really high fever. The fever started out low the day before, but it spiked this day. She looked so pitiful and like she did not feel good at all, so I quickly called her pediatrician and they recommended I go to a 24 hour doctor’s office (as they were closed). We were there for 4 hours.
My sick (could barely hold her head up) 2 year old had to wait 4 hours to see a doctor. She ended up having strep throat and scarlet fever. The doctor sent her a prescription to our usual pharmacy and by the time we got there, they had closed. I had no idea what to do. It was nearly 11p.m. at this point and I knew I needed to get that medicine in her as soon as possible. I called the doctor office back but they were closed. I started to drive around, not really knowing what to do, when I saw it! Walgreens was OPEN! The drive-thru ws OPEN! I didn’t even have to get out of my car!
I wasn’t sure if they could get her medicine for me, but after talking to the super nice pharmacist, he worked with us to get her perscription and filled it immediately! After frantically driving around after an already exhausting night and a very sick toddler in the back seat, I was so so very thankful! Ever since then, we have used our new preferred pharmacy – Walgreens! They have always been so helpful and are always open. Even more so, they are a pharmacy and retailer who cares.
Now, Walgreens is our one-stop-shop for all things baby! JOHNSON’S® – the brand you trust is now more gentle than ever! JOHNSON’S® baby products have relaunched at Walgreens and I loved their easy-to-find display! As a mom of three under 5, we have gone through a fair share of JOHNSON’S® products over the last several years. It is the #1 choice for hospitals and is now more gentle than ever! A new look from the inside out! There is also a brand new product on the shelves – JOHNSON’S® COTTONTOUCH™ Newborn Wash & Shampoo! It absorbs fast and feels so soft and is great to get kids settled before bedtime!
JOHNSON’S® baby products are 100% gentle and free of paragons and phthalates. They are dye and sulfate free making them worry-free for moms! There are now 50% fewer ingredients with over 90% naturally derived ingredients. I also love that they added the pump top to the bottles making them so easy to use. I already have my hands full enough at bath time! 9 out of 10 parents recommend these simpler and gentler products! JOHNSON’S® continues to evolve with the millennial mom to keep up with the changing needs of mom and baby. They maintain the safest ingredients while staying true to the brand people love and trust.
On a normal night when we are all feeling well but still struggling to get our kids to bed, I have a little routine that really helps! This is something my grandmother actually taught me to do and it really works! When you feel like you can’t get kids settled, try this!
How to Get Kids Settled for Bedtime:
We give the kids a warm soothing bath with our favorite JOHNSON’S® products from Walgreens. This allows them to get some of that late night energy out and they feel good and clean afterwards. Don’t you always sleep better after a good bath? Babies do, too!
Next, I put JOHNSON’S® lotion on them and put their PJs on. We crawl into my bed and read a bedtime story. Sometimes more than one, but we try to choose one a night.
Lastly, I tuck them in bed and if one is not wanting to go to sleep, I lay down with them (lights off) and tell them a story in a soft low voice. Before you know it, they will be snoring! Works every time!
How to Get Rid of Split Ends and Damaged Hair

I used to blame my years of dance – where I literally lived in a bun or ponytail – for my hair-breakage and split-ends. Now I blame my mom-bun. Its funny how things change so much, but sort of stay the same. My hair is naturally wavy/curly/frizzy, but add in lots of southern sun and hair ties and you’ve got a full-on mess of a situation. It’s true (just see my before photo below). I have always had split ends, and after reading about the causes of them, it is no wonder!

I love game days, but especially big game days! There happens to be one coming up and we love to get our friends together to celebrate and eat delicious food! This year, we are making our delicious Cantrell Chili recipe that everyone loves! It is always a big hit with our friends and family. The one thing I think about when serving chili is preparing the other bowl for my guests so they feel comfortable in our home. I would never want anyone to feel awkward, so I like to be prepared by stocking up on Poo-Pourri!

Our new neighborhood pool opened up back in March, but it has only been warm enough to swim for about a month now. We have already taken the kids a few times and will basically be living there this summer. What better way to keep the kids busy and catch some sun rays than by enjoying a family swimming day? I get questions all the time about what I keep in my pool bag, so I thought it would be fun to share with you guys today!

This spring and summer, I am very excited to do a little bit of traveling! We have a trip coming up later this month, one in May, and two possible trips in June! I love to travel, and while we haven’t done as much exploring since we have had kids, we are trying to make more of an effort this year – even if that means we take them with us! You may recall that we just took a road trip over spring break to Florida. Seven hours in a car with the three babies. It was long, but they actually did a lot better than I had anticipated. We went through several rural areas and all I could think about was if something happened to the car, what would we do?
6 Tips For Transitioning Baby To A Bottle After Breastfeeding

I honestly dread transitions. In our house, a big transition means extra crying and less sleeping. It’s not normally a fun thing. Sleep transitions, schedule transitions, transitions to school and one that I am currently doing for the third time now – transitioning baby to a bottle. I have to admit that he is my most stubborn out of all three children when it comes to the bottle. He has been breastfeeding now for 5 months and knows no different. This process has been a struggle with him which brings me to a valid point:
How To Help Your Dog Survive A Move

In the last 3 and a half years, we have had 3 babies and moved twice. That is a lot of change for a person, but can you imagine for a dog? And not just any dog, but our small, anxious maltipoo – bless her heart. Pippa has had a really tough time. I remember as a puppy she was very anxious. She is only four pounds, so she is really tiny and maybe some of her anxieties come from her size, but after a lot of reading about this breed I found that they seem to be very anxious dogs. Moving with kids is really hard. You have to deal with them acting out for a little while (like after any major event) and go through an adjustment period with them, but what is really hard to forget as a parent is that you also have a dog going through these same changes and adjustments.

I don’t care what Mexican restaurant we go to, it never fails, I always order chicken enchiladas! They are so delicious. Since we moved further out of the city, we have been trying to eat all of our meals at the house so that we don’t have to drive back and forth so much. It is also so much cheaper and we are on a tighter budget, so eating at home just makes sense. It is not always easy with three babies running around, so my favorite meals to prepare are quick and easy. I love making meals that can be completely prepared and cooked in 30 minutes or less. Hello, Rachel Ray! She is a genius. I have played around with different variations of chicken enchiladas, but this is my favorite.
