18 Books You Should Read 2018

January 8, 2018

This continues to be one of my favorite posts to write every year and one of my top-performing posts as well, which means you guys love it, too! That makes me so happy and makes it that much more fun to put together! Last year I did not have a lot of time to read. If I’m being honest, I only finished one book all year. Pathetic. So, this year, I have already cracked the books, done my research and put together this list of books you simply must read this year! Cheers to reading ALL the books in 2018!

First up…

I just started First Comes Love by Emily Giffin. It is so good so far and I am falling in love with the characters. I started it last year, but life and kids happened, so I put it down and never picked it back up. I started it again over the weekend and I love it! So, I am adding it to my list. She is, after all, one of my favorite authors.

18 Books to Read in 2018 LoganCan.com

First Comes Love by Emily Giffin (Currently Reading)

Books Releasing This Year:

The Endless Beach by Jenny Colgan (Releasing this month!)

Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella (Releasing February)

All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin (Releasing in June) Probably the one I’m looking most forward to this year!

Books being made into movies:

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle – This one has an amazing cast which makes me want to go see it! I am definitely the type of girl who enjoys reading the book before seeing the movie, so this is a must-read for me this year!

Where’d Ya Go Bernadette by Maria Semple – I need to give this one a second chance because I ave GOT to see this movie. I mean, Kristen Wiig? Say no more! I tried reading this a couple of years ago and had a hard time getting into it, so I may try it again.

Books for Moms:

A Simplified Life: Tactical Tools for Intentional Living by Emily Ley

Of Mess and Moxie by Jennifer Hatmaker

Love Unending: Rediscovering Your Marriage in the Midst of Motherhood by Becky Thompson

Books to Catch Up On:

The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty – LOVE her books and I still haven’t read this one, so it’s going on the list! If you’ve never read any of hers, read What Alice Forgot or Big Little Lies! They are both amazing!

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – this book won so many awards a couple of years ago and I’ve heard it’s really good! Can’t wait to read it!

The Royal Treatment (The Crown Jewels Romantic Comedy Series Book 1) by Melanie Summers

The Life List: A Novel by Lori Nelson Spielman

Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams

The Simplicity of Cider: A Novel by Amy E. Reichert – I loved The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by the same author! Excited to read another one by her!

Sugar: A Novel by Kimberly Stuart

The Confectioner’s Tale: A Novel of Paris by Laura Madeleine

London Falling (The Rulefords book 1) by Emma Carr

Books for the Boss Lady:

The Psychology of Persuasion: How To Persuade Others To Your Way Of Thinking by Kevin Hogan

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change by Stephen R. Covey

I added these last two which made my list a total of 20 instead of 18, but 18 books in 2018 sounds better, am I right? AND of course, I have to end the list with #21 because I have to end the book list with a classic. This year’s classic…

Persuasion by Jane Austen

I can’t wait to see how the Wrinkle in Time movie turns out! The Confectioner’s Tale sounds very intriguing! I’d never heard of it, or the author before but I’m going to see if my library has it right now. Thanks for the great list!
