This weekend was the first weekend I have really taken a break from the blogging world since Christmas, and it was much-needed. I honestly don’t remember the last day I took “off.” Not good, Logan. Not good. Spending time with my family without worrying about social media or emails, etc. was so freeing and I feel refreshed today. Our Easter weekend began with a little bit of cleaning and laundry because I was way behind (let’s be honest, I always am) and then a birthday party at the zoo for a sweet friend of ours.

I honestly dread transitions. In our house, a big transition means extra crying and less sleeping. It’s not normally a fun thing. Sleep transitions, schedule transitions, transitions to school and one that I am currently doing for the third time now – transitioning baby to a bottle. I have to admit that he is my most stubborn out of all three children when it comes to the bottle. He has been breastfeeding now for 5 months and knows no different. This process has been a struggle with him which brings me to a valid point:

I had a really good talk with my mom on the phone the other day. It was one of those conversations that I know I’ll remember. She said so many positive things to me that I have needed to hear for a long time. She filled me with life, and I can’t tell you what that did to me. In our conversation, she said something that really struck a chord with me on being intentional with our time. It may seem simple to some of you, but it had a major impact on me. Being a mother of three young children/babies is tough. Since having Weston, most days I’ve worn sweat pants and haven’t even bothered putting on make-up. That is a big deal for someone who loves fashion and enjoys being put together. I haven’t felt like myself.

Ahh Spring break…how quickly you came and left us. I must admit that it was a crazy start, but it ended so sweet. We went to Jacksonville after the kids recovered from the stomach virus and let me tell you, it was long overdo! I had not seen my grandfather since last May and he had not met Weston. We also got to meet my cousins baby who was born two months before Weston, so those were special moments.

I can’t believe Easter is already right around the corner and I am already brainstorming Easter basket ideas for my babies! This year seems to be going by in the blink of an eye. Maybe it’s just me? We have still been in our newborn, “I have three under three” phase over here, so excuse me if I sound a little crazy. #sleepdeprived It is so hard to decide what to put in them this year. Do I want to do a theme, or just fill it with random things that they need? So, come brainstorm with me…

This weekend felt like a whirlwind. The good kind. My in-laws are golden because they kept our older two for us on Friday night and we got so much done. We even squeezed in a date (with Weston, of course) to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I got a lot of our house cleaned up while Ryan went to work on hanging mirrors, photos, etc. Our house is finally starting to feel more put-together and look like a home. Also, this is the only photo evidence of us going on a date that was taken by my three-year-old. haha I have GOT to invest in a tripod! If you know of a good affordable one, please let me know in the comments!

Our weekend was so relaxing this weekend. Looking back on it, we didn’t feel like we did a lot, but we kind of did. I got all of my consignment things priced and dropped off and cleaned the house up a little and did laundry. We also saw a few friends we haven’t seen in a while and it was so nice to catch up with them and went to church as aways, but for the most part, we enjoyed a lot of snuggles on the couch with the kids and a little outdoor play. It was fun, but it was cold.

Our weekend was once again, filled with rainy days. We are all getting the cabin fever over here. We have also been sick since Thursday and are still trying to get over whatever we’ve had. I’m hoping it is just a bad cold virus and not the flu. Little Sophie has been just pitiful. She had a fever four days in a row and just laid around on me all weekend. She is normally so bubbly that it made me really sad to see her like that. I am praying we are all on the upswing of this now.

It has been a really crazy January. We went from snow storm to shorts in less than a week. Needless to say, the weather has finally caught up with my family like is has so many others around us. Hampton has had a fever and hasn’t been feeling well and I woke up this morning with a little head cold. We are praying that Sophie and Weston don’t get this. Currently lysoling everything. Happy Monday!
