Mornings with my Sophie have been so special these last couple of weeks. After I drop Hampton off at MMO, I love to spend quality time with her. It won’t be just the two of us for much longer, and I don’t know how often it will be just me and my girl after the baby comes, so I’m trying to take advantage of every moment with her.
Labor Day Weekend 2016
This Labor Day weekend was a busy, but good one! We relaxed Saturday morning and then did a lot of housework/ran errands. On Sunday, we celebrated Ryan’s Nanny’s 93rd birthday! It was such a special time and we enjoyed spending time with his family and celebrating this wonderful woman with delicious food! It was seriously like Thanksgiving. We had quite the feast with some of my favorites! Later that night, we went to watch our local professional baseball team with a group of 20’s and 30’s from our church. The kids seemed to enjoy it and Hampton loved playing on the playground and seeing the train pass by behind the stadium. Sophie tried to keep up with the older boys at one point, but she struggled towards the end, bless her heart. She is definitely very spunky and I’m sure she won’t have any trouble keeping up with her brothers.
Friday Favorites
It’s Friday which means it’s time for more of my Friday favorites! This week, we have struggled a little bit. Both of my babies have been sick and running a fever the last couple of days. Hamp missed school which made me (and him) sick because he was looking so forward to it. Poor little guy. My Sophie girl has been just pitiful the last couple of days, but I’m praying that today is the ay everyone starts to feel better! It is a holiday weekend, after all! It’s time to get out and explore…or carb load and watch football. either way…which brings me to my first FAVORITE!
New House Update And What’s Been Going On Lately
I feel like things have been really crazy over here lately. With Ryan traveling so much this month, building a new house, Hampton starting school, lots of work-related opportunities and two toddlers, you could say we have been pretty busy. It’s been a great month and I honestly can’t believe it is over already. If September goes by as fast as August, I may be in trouble. We have so much to do to get ready for baby boy and in such a short amount of time. The anxiety is definitely back. I’m 30 weeks along now and physically, feeling more ready every day to have this baby. My doctor warned me that the round ligament pain would be much worse this time, and she was right. Ouch. Carrying two toddlers around isn’t helping a lot either. Plus, we are just getting excited to meet our new little boy!

What Essentials To Purchase For Your Third Baby

I am a third-time expectant mom – due in November! In case you haven’t noticed, we are roughly 2 months away from my due date. Yikes! I realized this fact over the weekend when I started having really strong braxton hicks contractions. You’ve got to love those! I had a moment of panic when I told Ryan that I had literally done nothing to prepare for this baby and we are getting so close to our due date and moving date. While it is true that you can reuse several things for second and third children, it is also important to purchase new essentials.
Family Beach Trip 2016
Last week we took our family of four (and a half) to Destin, Florida with some of our best friends and their little girl! It was so bittersweet taking one last family beach trip as a family of four. With me being 28 (almost 29) weeks pregnant, I doubt we will be doing a lot more traveling this year. We had so much fun, but I will say, when beaching it with kids, it is definitely more of a trip than a vacation. Camp decided he didn’t like the sand and water this year, while Sophie wouldn’t quit eating the sand. So, you know. Early naps and lots of snacks got us through the days.
How to Prepare Your Dog for a New Baby

I will never forget the day that Ryan surprised me with our Maltipoo and first family pet, “Pippa.” It was on Christmas Eve – two months after we married. It was the biggest surprise I have ever had in my life. A maltipoo was my dream dog. She was the runt of her liter and was so tiny. She looked like a little fur ball. Two years later, when we had Hampton – our first child – she started acting out. I had heard that this would probably happen, but it was really bad. After our Sophie was born, she did it again. Honestly, I think it is because she wasn’t getting as much attention. It’s only natural, because we have two babies. Of course our dog isn’t going to come before them, but we do still love her to pieces and she needs a little extra attention every now and then to remind her that she is still special to us. So, how do you prepare your dog for a new baby?
How I Have Peace of Mind With Three Kids Under Three

I have a 2-year old, a 1-year old, and am due with baby #3 in less than 3 months. That’s three kids under three. We are hoping this little guy will be born after big brother’s birthday, but who knows! To say I have my hands full is an understatement. Some days, I’m lucky to brush my teeth and hair before noon. It’s real life when you are chasing around two toddlers all day. I must admit that these two (soon to be three) little nuggets are my whole world. Having peace of mind as a mother is difficult because we are natural worriers, but I have recently had a little help with my parental anxieties.

In just one short week, we go to orientation for Hampton’s preschool program. I can’t believe he is about to start school. He will only be going a couple of days a week, but he is so excited and I can’t help but think back on my school days. As a mom, my biggest concern is keeping him healthy. He will be exposed to more germs than he is used to and, because of that, he will expose my other babies. Here are a few key strategies I am using to keep my kids healthy during the busy back-to-school season.
When It’s Too Hot To Play Outside…
Happy August, everyone! This year seems to be flying by. In just 3 short months, we will be moving into our new house and welcoming our baby boy into the world! It is hard to believe that we are so close. We have lots of exciting things happening this month. Hampton starts his preschool program, my birthday is next week, and we are going on our last summer vacation! Lots of fun to be had! This summer has been a really HOT one in Alabama. If you live in or have traveled to the deep south before, you know it is also very humid. Sweat + frizzy hair? Not a great mix. After taking the kids to the park last week, we have hardly been able to play outside. The playground equipment was too hot to play on so we weren’t able to do much and had to leave right after arriving there. This past weekend, we did a lot of cleaning and caught up on some laundry to prepare to Ryan’s travels this month. We spent most of our time inside.
