Easter Weekend 2017

April 17, 2017

This weekend was the first weekend I have really taken a break from the blogging world since Christmas, and it was much-needed. I honestly don’t remember the last day I took “off.” Not good, Logan. Not good. Spending time with my family without worrying about social media or emails, etc. was so freeing and I feel refreshed today. Our Easter weekend began with a little bit of cleaning and laundry because I was way behind (let’s be honest, I always am) and then a birthday party at the zoo for a sweet friend of ours.

Sunday the Easter bunny came to our house and filled the kid’s baskets full of goodies, then we attended our church service where we “flowered the cross.” It was our first time to do this and it was such a beautiful analogy of Jesus resurrecting and coming back to life. As we started with a rugged cross and then the cross was covered in flowers by the time everyone took their fresh flowers. It was really moving. You can watch part of it on my Instagram stories!

Sunday after church, we went to my parent’s house to celebrate Easter with them! We did our second egg hunt and ate a delicious lunch and visited with my sister who I haven’t seen in a while. My kids love their “Mac Mac,” so we were very excited to spend some time with her.

So, just like that, another first holiday is in the books for little Weston. He was such a trooper and looked so adorable in his Jon Jon. Weekends spent with family and friends are always such a blessing.

How did you celebrate Easter?
