We went on our last family vacation of Summer last week. So bittersweet. We went to my grandparent’s house in Jacksonville again because we did not get to do everything we wanted to last time we were there. Unfortunately, it rained nearly every day we were there again this trip, but we still had a lot of fun. We went to a family member’s neighborhood pool where they have the best kid pool. My kid’s had a ball there. We also went back to the awesome park with a splash pad that day and they had so much fun. Man, it’s good to be a kid, isn’t it? I totally took it for granted.
McWane Center Birmingham Alabama
This weekend, we went to south Alabama to celebrate my aunt’s big birthday! I videoed the big surprise on my insta-stories. It was in a beautiful barn and was such a gorgeous set-up. It was truly a beautiful escape for the evening and the kids enjoyed running around with their cousins. On Saturday, we got up and drove to Birmingham to take the kids to the McWane Center. It was a big surprise for the kiddos because they have never been, but I’ve been wanting to take them for months. There is a big dinosaur exhibit there now and Hamp has a huge fascination with dinosaurs, so it was pretty perfect for him!

Jacksonville Beach Florida Trip
After spending nearly two weeks indoors due to rain, we went to my grandparent’s house in Jacksonville Beach! They live about five minutes from the beach and we absolutely love the city, so going down there is always such a treat. There are countless things to do with the kids and that makes it fun for our whole family. We already have another trip planned in July and have a list of new things to do and places to explore.
Visit Jackson: The City With Soul
One thing on my list of goals for the new year is to travel with Ryan a good bit more. He travels about two or three times a month and gets to see the coolest places. Jackson Mississippi has been named the “City with Soul” for a reason. This up and coming city is a great destination for anyone who enjoys experiencing different cultures, music, food, arts and more! The city was actually built on top of one of the oldest volcanos. From old distilleries to blues clubs, there is something for everyone!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit and Jax Beach
We just got back from our trip to Jacksonville late Monday. We had so much fun visiting my family there. As my grandparents get older, it is more and more important for me to go often and I have tried to do a better job of that. It is a long road trip with our little ones, but it is more than worth it! I got to do a little Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shopping whole there, and I can’t wait to show you a couple of things I got in the store!

Weekend in Callaway Gardens
This weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary! SIXTY years, y’all. It’s kind of a big deal. Especially this day in time. They wanted the entire family to celebrate with them, so me and all 30-something cousins loaded up and traveled to Callaway Gardens in Georgia for the weekend.

This spring and summer, I am very excited to do a little bit of traveling! We have a trip coming up later this month, one in May, and two possible trips in June! I love to travel, and while we haven’t done as much exploring since we have had kids, we are trying to make more of an effort this year – even if that means we take them with us! You may recall that we just took a road trip over spring break to Florida. Seven hours in a car with the three babies. It was long, but they actually did a lot better than I had anticipated. We went through several rural areas and all I could think about was if something happened to the car, what would we do?
Spring Break 2017
Ahh Spring break…how quickly you came and left us. I must admit that it was a crazy start, but it ended so sweet. We went to Jacksonville after the kids recovered from the stomach virus and let me tell you, it was long overdo! I had not seen my grandfather since last May and he had not met Weston. We also got to meet my cousins baby who was born two months before Weston, so those were special moments.
Our Mini Road Trip to Biloxi
This past week I had the rare opportunity to go with Ryan on one of his business trips. It was a very spontaneous decision for me to go. It was a really quick little road trip (only one night) but it was so nice to get away for a little while and recharge. We went to Biloxi, Mississippi and while Ryan has been several times, it was my first time to visit. Ryan’s parent’s kept the kids for us and we were able to enjoy conversations that didn’t involve “how dirty is this sippy cup” or “when did they have a snack.” I think we both really needed that and it did us a lot of good. A few hours into our trip I started missing the kids, but I guess that’s what happens when they are your life, right? I almost don’t know what to do with myself when I’m away from them anymore.
Family Beach Trip 2016
Last week we took our family of four (and a half) to Destin, Florida with some of our best friends and their little girl! It was so bittersweet taking one last family beach trip as a family of four. With me being 28 (almost 29) weeks pregnant, I doubt we will be doing a lot more traveling this year. We had so much fun, but I will say, when beaching it with kids, it is definitely more of a trip than a vacation. Camp decided he didn’t like the sand and water this year, while Sophie wouldn’t quit eating the sand. So, you know. Early naps and lots of snacks got us through the days.
