Front Porch Sittin’

January 23, 2017

Our weekend was once again, filled with rainy days. We are all getting the cabin fever over here. We have also been sick since Thursday and are still trying to get over whatever we’ve had. I’m hoping it is just a bad cold virus and not the flu. Little Sophie has been just pitiful. She had a fever four days in a row and just laid around on me all weekend. She is normally so bubbly that it made me really sad to see her like that. I am praying we are all on the upswing of this now.

Rocking Chair

One thing I have really enjoyed is watching the rain from our front porch. It is so peaceful. I remember growing up and sitting on my grandmother’s front porch to watch when a storm would blow in and listening to the wind and rain. I realized one thing this past week when we were out there and that is that I really need to buy some porch furniture and to get it all decorated and set up cute. I had no where to sit, but my kids took turns sitting in their new rocking chair from Wildkin. It is so adorable and is the perfect size for them. Wildkin is a Nashville based children’s brand that has a great collection of backpacks, bedding, furniture and decor all of their products are non-toxic and safe for children. I love so many of their products! Sophie really enjoys rocking her babies in the chair while she sings to them. It is the sweetest.

Front Porch

I think next on my list is a porch swing. Every front porch needs a good swing. After that, maybe a couple of white rocking chairs and a little side table. I can’t wait to make this space my own and I know we will enjoy it so much during the spring and summer this year. Right now, being outdoors sounds heavenly, but unfortunately it has been raining again this morning. Maybe we will make it outside tomorrow!

What did you do this weekend?

Must be going around. All my daughters children were sick this weekend. She is a cutie and hope she gets to feeling better soon. That rocker is calling her name.

I really want a porch swing, too! I’m not sure I have the framing for it, but it’s on my wish list.

We don’t have a porch but we have a deck and it’s so nice to sit out there.
