Last year was Sophie’s first Christmas and this year will be Weston’s. I love firsts, but there is something about the holidays that is even more special. Baby’s first Christmas in particular is such a sweet time. I love celebrating Christ’s birth and remembering my own baby’s birth. It is a wonderful time of reflection and remembering why we are all here in the first place. It’s also fun to dress up a new baby and bundle him in red and green and all the cable knit and flannel everything. We are all so smitten with our new little boy over here and these are a few things that we have loved and need to be on your new baby’s holiday gift guide!
Our First Outing as a Family of Five
Our first outing, like mosts peoples, was to the doctor. Hampton and Sophie both had checkups scheduled for today, so we were able to bring Weston for his newborn appointment as well. 3 babies + 3 checkups + 3 shots + no sleep = a lot of fun, let me tell you! When Sophie is tired, she tends to get really hyper and delirious. She was screaming and running all around the waiting room. Hampton was testing me big time, and Weston was okay. He cried a little bit, but for the most part, he did great! Ryan and I struggled because we have only been sleeping about 2 hours a night since coming home from the hospital. Mr. Weston has his days and nights mixed up, but we are working on changing that. We treated the kids to Chick fil A afterwards which made us all feel a little better.

What’s In My Hospital Bag The Third Time Around
By some major miracle, I finally finished packing my hospital bag. Even though I will be having this baby literally any day now, I have been putting it off. I think part of me just really doesn’t feel as concerned as I have in the past about making sure I have anything and everything I MIGHT need. I am only taking the essentials this time because I tend to overpack and have taken way too much stuff the last two times. In all honesty, other than toiletries and clothes, the hospital provides so many of the essentials that you really don’t have to take much unless you just want to. However, I am all about feeling comfortable and as “at home” as possible, so I do like to include a couple of personal touches to keep me sane.
Third Trimester Must Haves For The Very End Of Pregnancy
It is so hard to believe that my pregnancy is coming to an end! Baby boy will be here any day now. I’m trying to enjoy every last moment until he decides to make his appearance. I’m honestly not sure if this is my last pregnancy or not, but just in case, I want to remember and enjoy every little detail and movement even though the last few weeks have been anything but pleasant. I have been very sick throughout this pregnancy and have had a lot of pain and contractions the last 3 weeks. Here are some of my third trimester must haves that have gotten me through the tough moments!
Birthday Trip to the Zoo
We had every intention on throwing Hampton a birthday party this year, but with our move and the baby coming literally any day, we weren’t able to make it happen. I promised him that we would make it really special by taking him to lunch anywhere he wanted and to the zoo! It ended up being the perfect day to go to the zoo because it was so cool outside! The zoo was all decorated for Halloween which was another added bonus! The kids loved all of the pumpkins! Hampton was totally set on riding the rhinoceros… bless him.
Hampton is THREE
Pinch me! My baby boy is three years old today. In some ways it feels like it has been every bit of three years and in some ways it feels like I had him yesterday. Looking back at photos of him seems like it all just happened, and yet, here we are. Motherhood is funny like that, I guess.
Potty Training Tips and Advice From Mom Bloggers
The other day, I asked my followers on Instagram What their best potty training tips were and boy did they deliver! Some of it I had heard before, but a lot of it was new to me. Potty training can be so hard and frustrating, but one thing I have learned from others is that every child is different and learns at the own pace and in very different ways.
Potty Training Woes
Potty training Hamp has been a huge struggle. He has good days and bad days, but he is still far from being completely potty trained. With our third baby coming in 7 (or less) weeks, I am feeling a lot of pressure to get him potty trained so that we don’t have three in diapers. He will be 3 in late October, so I feel like we should really be farther along than we are and it has been extremely frustrating for both of us.
32 Weeks Pregnant
I am 32 weeks pregnant and struggling. This past week has been a hard one. I have been sick every day, but it worsened when I went to one of our local consignment sales on Saturday. It’s held in a basement with no air conditioning and people were packed in there like sardines. What us mothers will do for a bargain. Sigh. I was relieved to see I wasn’t the only one – and not the only pregnant woman, either – struggling down there, I got way too overheated. I almost didn’t make it back to my car, but luckily I had my mom with me who was able to help me get there without falling out. I have naturally low blood pressure, so fainting has occurred in my past, but I have never fainted while pregnant and really don’t want to.
