This week has been a little weird with the crazy weather. We had to move back some of our plans which have made the last 2 days completely insane. Needless to say, I am happy it is Friday and I am ready to head down south to celebrate some very special twins who are due to arrive in a couple of months and spend time with family and friends! For now though, Samantha tagged me in 21 Questions a couple of weeks ago so I thought today would be a fun day to answer these random questions and a few bonus ones from you! Here we go…
10 Things About Me

I follow a lot of blogs. The ones that I read daily are mostly those who have been blogging since I started 3 years ago. They are my daily reads because I fell in love with them a long time ago and I feel like I’ve been right by their side since my beginning. I enjoy reading them because while they do fabulous fashion, make-up, and how-to posts, they are also real and honest. They share their lives and their opinions. As much as I love reading a great recipe or DIY, I really enjoy reading posts that allow me to get to know the person behind the blog. I want to feel like I know them if I’m going to read their blog regularly. Blogging is about relationships. It is a growing community and can be very overwhelming when you throw yourself into it. When you find a group that you connect with, you follow them. Learn from them. Grow with them. But most importantly, you build a relationship with them.
1. I am a little O.C.D. about my house. I have to clean the kitchen, fold the laundry and clean off all the surfaces in my home before bedtime. However, I am terrible about cleaning the shower. That is the one chore I hate doing and rarely do.
2. I am an introverted extrovert. Until I started my psychology classes in college, I didn’t even realize you can be both, but you can, and I am. I scored almost 50% introvert and 50% extrovert on the scale of the test I took in my psych assessments class. Which reminds me, I have a degree in psychology from Auburn (in Montgomery) and I am seriously considering going back for my masters and maybe doctorate? The only thing holding me back is that thesis. Blah. And two little ankle biters. Speaking of…
3. I have 2 kids, but I would love to have 4. I’ve always said I want to have three and adopt one. I’ve wanted to adopt for as long as I can remember, and seeing more and more people doing it now has really encouraged me to do so. It is something I pray about every day. I’m having faith that God will lead the way if we are supposed to go down that path.
4. My favorite show in the entire world is Gilmore Girls. I love the fast paced verbal and the witty/sarcastic humor. Their jokes were always smart and sometimes over my head, but I loved trying to figure out what they were referring to, and often times have to google. I think it was a genius show that should have gone on for at least 3 more seasons.
5. I love fashion and my favorite types of posts to write and put together are fashion posts, although, I sometimes feel uncomfortable taking photos, fashion is something I am passionate about and I love being able to express myself in that way. I have many different styles. I love all things classy and girly, but I also love to rock the bohemian look. I am mostly casual, but I do enjoy dressing up from time to time. Growing up I wanted to be a fashion designer. I have had a love for style for as long as I can remember. By the age of ten I even had an entire “portfolio” of my designs. And yes, I still have it!
6. I am terrified of needles. I’m still pinching myself that I made it through 2 childbirths without dying of a heart attack. All I know is, I serve a big God and He definitely carried me through and gave me an enormous strength and peace through both of my experiences.
7. I have a younger brother and a younger sister, both of which started a blog recently. We are very close and I love that they have started blogs so that I can keep up with them.
8. Ryan and I love to travel. It is something we are very passionate about and would love to do more of. We have a couple of big trips planned over the next year, one to Europe next summer and another to California. We are still working out the details, but these trips have been in the works for the last 2 years now. It’s about time we go, don’t you think?
9. I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. While I love our city, i is definitely one that need a little love and TLC. We love living here because it is where we were raised and most of our family is here. It would be difficult to leave, although we have contemplated it many times.
10. I grew up dancing and through that lifestyle I grew a love and passion for fitness and exercise. I am addicted to it, but terrible when it comes to diet. I am constantly struggling to eat healthy. I don’t ever have any issues working out, but when it comes to eating a salad over pizza, I cave.
A Reintroduction and ALWB Announcement
Hi there! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I can’t hold it in any longer so without further ado, I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the Alabama Women Bloggers as the Blogger of the Month Correspondent! I have been working with these ladies for a couple of weeks now, preparing and learning the ins and outs and I have loved getting to know them. I’ve also met some pretty incredible Alabama Bloggers that I didn’t even know existed. Who knew there were so many? I have also been re-branding and gained a few new followers lately, so I have been wanting to reintroduce myself to all of the newbies. I’m excited to get reacquainted with some of you and get to know others for the first time. So here is a little about me…

My name is Logan and I blog at Logan Can (formally, Southern Sunflowers and Coffee Beans) about my life as a new mom, fashion, books, fitness and whatever else comes to my mind.. My birthday is August 8th, 1988…Can you guess what my lucky number is? I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now, although I have taken two mini breaks in between – once when I was really sick during my pregnancy and again right after I had my sweet Hampton. I started blogging to write book reviews, because I’m a bit of a book hoarder lover, and to journal my life as a newlywed. It quickly became an outlet for my writing/journaling and I have loved every minute of it. I wasn’t expecting to become friends with so many amazing women. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a “blogging community” until I was several months into blogging. That is when I discovered link-ups and found all types of different bloggers that I had something in common with. We started emailing, tweeting, talking on the phone etc. and have formed actual friendships.
I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, where I have lived my entire life – other than a few months that I lived in Auburn during my college years.
I married Ryan in October 2011. After 9 months of trying, several needles, and a few medications I became pregnant with my precious baby boy. He was born October 24, 2013. October is a pretty big month for us. My boys have been my biggest blessings. They bring me so much joy and laughter every day.
I graduated college in May 2011 with a degree in psychology. I had every intention on going back after getting married, but I still haven’t started back. I am kind of weird and actually enjoyed school. Especially my major. I have a heart for helping people and I feel like that is a huge calling in my life. Over the past few years, God has revealed that to me more and more because of certain people and situations he has placed in my life. I love to encourage others and give them hope. I would love to go back to school and become a counselor or a Psychologist, I just haven’t done it yet. Since graduation day – literally – I have worked as a web content manager for local restaurants and lawyers. It’s boring, but allows me to be home with Hampton while still bringing in the bacon.
I love to travel with my husband. It is a huge passion of ours. We actually just got back from a quick trip to Orlando. We love to visit new places and see new things. There are so many places I would love to move to, but you know that saying “there’s no place like home.” It’s true. I would miss our families so much if we moved, however, nothing is certain and we could move at any moment with Ryan’s slightly unpredictable job. We went to London and Paris for our honeymoon and it was one of the best memories of my life. It still feels like a dream that we went there. I feel like I could adapt to living in either of those cities. I’ve also always thought it would be so neat to live in California. Either the San Francisco area or maybe even Napa Valley. Speaking of, we are planning a trip to San Fran in the fall! We are so excited. I’m pretty adaptable, so I think I could really live anywhere, but I do think it would be tough to be too far away from our family.
As far as entertainment, I love, love, love to read, so when I get a free moment I usually turn to a book. When I’m not in the mood to read, I do turn on the T.V. to either Gilmore Girls or New Girl. I love the quick smart humor that GG gives us. Plus, it’s the best written show in the world. How can you not love it? I am also a huge movie buff. I thank my dad for that. It’s in my blood. I love any and all chick flicks, comedies and some action movies. I can’t handle all of that sci-fi mess. it’s definitely not my thing.
I actually have a whole post written on music and have yet to hit that Publish button. I am not really sure why. I’ll post it soon because I love music. I grew up dancing and continued to dance all through college. I have been exposed to so many genres of music over my life and have an extremely wide variety of taste. I was also raised by this man named Tommy, my dad, who forced me to listen to all things 70’s rock and old country. Thanks, dad. Side note, he was on tour with Molly Hatchet. If you don’t know who they are, google them. Needless to say, some of my favorites are: Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffet, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Red Hot Chili Peppers….I could go on all day. Seriously. Be on the lookout for my post on music later next week.
My dream job is to become a travel blogger or write for a travel magazine. I can’t imagine how amazing that would be. To actually get paid to travel and write about food, museums, hotels, etc. I mean, I would do that for free. Can you imagine getting paid to do it? I follow so many successful travel blogs and they amaze and inspire me.

This year, I am most looking forward to our trips to Chicago and San Francisco, watching my baby grow during his first year of life (he is changing so much every day), celebrating our 3rd anniversary, and hopefully growing this blog space of mine. I am venturing out and starting to do a little bit of fashion blogging (if you haven’t already noticed) and it has been a lot of fun. They have become some of my favorite posts, and according to my stats, they are your favorites as well. I am really looking forward to getting to know more of you, and of course all of my Alabama ladies! I will be hunting down Bloggers of the Month every month and working with them, so be on the lookout for me! I’ve already enjoyed getting to know our June Blogger of the Month. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Catherine. She is kind of awesome.
