This weekend, we went to south Alabama to celebrate my aunt’s big birthday! I videoed the big surprise on my insta-stories. It was in a beautiful barn and was such a gorgeous set-up. It was truly a beautiful escape for the evening and the kids enjoyed running around with their cousins. On Saturday, we got up and drove to Birmingham to take the kids to the McWane Center. It was a big surprise for the kiddos because they have never been, but I’ve been wanting to take them for months. There is a big dinosaur exhibit there now and Hamp has a huge fascination with dinosaurs, so it was pretty perfect for him!

Happy Friday, friends! We have finally made it to the weekend! Anyone else doing a little dance? We have a fun weekend planned with the kids and have been so looking forward to the weekend. My car is finally fixed, VBS was a major success (and so much fun) and we are feeling blessed. You know what? I was super negative about my car situation earlier this week, but I am so thankful that we had the funds set aside to pay for it. That was a big blessing this week and I am so thankful for that. And now, we can get on with our weekend plans and some awesome sales! First, I wanted to share a Friday Five since I wasn’t able to last week (thank you guys for giving my sponsored post some love last week) and then I will jump into the 4th of July sales.
ONE. One of you requested I share five outfits, so I thought I would start with that! I shared some of this past week’s outfits in this post earlier in the week, but here are two more that would be really cute for the 4th of July or an everyday summer outfit!
We are just two weeks away from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018! Some have referred to the sale as the “big Kahuna” and there is really good reason for that. It is basically amazing if you are into fall fashion. Really, all fashion, but the sale does focus on brand new fall items that haven’t even hit the store yet, with some marked down up to 40% off – hence the “big Kahuna” reference. This is one to prepare for and definitely take advantage of. Let me answer a few questions about the sale and why you should shop it this year…
I haven’t done an outfit round-up in a hot minute, so I thought, why not do one today? I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite outfits over the last week or so. I may make these “What I Wore” posts a little more regular so that I can help answer sizing questions and it can be a good reference for you guys to come back to!
Over the weekend, I posted my 4th of July fashion picks for the family including swimwear, tanks, dresses, accessories and more! Definitely check it out if you haven’t gotten your outfits for the 4th yet! Yesterday, I didn’t post so that I could take some time to work on content and take photos. I’m trying to get in a groove of posting daily, again but I decided this around the time the kids got out of school, so that backfired on me a little bit and I haven’t had as much time as I would like to devote to writing daily. However, bare with me because I will get it figured out soon. It is definitely helpful when you guys tell me things you would like to see on the blog, so keep your suggestions coming! I appreciate them more than you know!
I absolutely love the 4th of July! My entire family comes into town and I get to see all of my cousins, eat good food and watch the fireworks. We always have such a good time together and I am really looking forward to it this year. I also absolutely love wearing red, white and blue. It is such a classic combination that really works. This year in particular, I have seen the cutest clothes for the kids and the best tees for the mamas! In regards to my past 4th of July outfits, I’ve been known to go completely decked out in the American flag, or be a little more subtle with denim shorts and a white tee. I haven’t quite decided what I’m wearing this year, but I’m sort of going to go with what I’m feeling that morning. HA!

I am all about working hard during the week and treating myself and my family on the weekends. We love to go get ice cream or go to the pool or splashed or something really fun at the end of every week. It’s like a treat for working so hard or for the kids being extra sweet during the week. We all look forward to it. This summer, it has been challenging for me to keep the kids busy enough so that they aren’t bored while also working. It is something I have been struggling with the last few weeks, so it has meant working a lot of late nights and on the weekends again. I think it is so important to treat yourself often. Keeping life fun and exciting is preferred to just working your life away, right? So, I am working to treat myself and my kids to lots of breaks and fun activities.
I am so happy it is Thursday! Ryan is home! It’s been a WEEK at our house, y’all. I could tell lots of poop stories from the week, but I’ll spare you. I’ll just leave it at… I got to take the most amazing bath last night after my knight in shining armor walked in and it was glorious. This week, Thursday is just as good as Friday. I am super excited to share this cute summer dress with y’all, and like the title says, it is literally the only one you will need this summer!
Ryan, you are our rock. Our encourager, our provider, our spiritual leader, our protector. I have to pinch myself every day that God chose me to be your wife. I feel incredibly blessed to be your partner in crime. We have the most beautiful babies who absolutely adore you. They miss you terribly when you are gone and get so excited when you come back home to us. They love their story time with dad and to run and flip over you. I love to watch the little boy come out in you when you are playing with them and laughing hysterically. Your bond with our baby girl is the sweetest relationship that I have had a front row seat to and it is just beautiful. Your boys admire you and look at you like they’re staring at superman himself. Your unwavering faith in our Lord during the good times and bad is something I am constantly striving to achieve and you are so faithful, supportive and encouraging to me. You have unconditional love for us. We are so grateful and thankful for you. Thank you for being our husband and father. We love you! Happy Father’s Day!
