I am 100% an amazon prime mom. It is just so incredibly convenient – especially when you have a newborn or multiple children! When I take my kids to the store, they fill up the cart and I can only really grab a couple of things at a time. Amazon is so easy and more time efficient and just makes sense for us. So, when we started preparing for our Memorial weekend vacation, Amazon was the obvious choice. I ordered what we needed and everything was here 2 days later. Easy, peasy! I am all about working hard during the week and treating myself and my family on the weekends. We love to go get ice cream or go to the pool or splashed or something really fun at the end of every week. It’s like a treat for working so hard or for the kids being extra sweet during the week. We all look forward to it. This summer, it has been challenging for me to keep the kids busy enough so that they aren’t bored while also working. Because we are a family who loves the water, it is important to us that our kids learn how to swim at a young age. After recently talking to my cousin and a couple of friends, I have realized how much of a struggle it is to find good, mom friendly swimsuits these days. So many swimsuits that popular retailers are making are not padded or offer little to no support. They are also very unflattering or cut funny and definitely not designed for a postpartum or “mom-bod”. Not that a “mom-bod” is a bad thing, but I think we can all agree that our bodies don’t ever really go back to how they were before. Not completely, anyway. They are forever changed – and for a good reason. You housed and nourished a human being for 9 months. That is no small feat.

Beach Bag Essentials

After asking what you guys wanted to see on the blog, several of you said you wanted to see some July 4th fashion (which I have put under my Shop tab for you to easily shop) and my beach bag essentials. I loved asking what you wanted to see because I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to post with it being a holiday weekend. I know any of you are traveling and taking time off, so thank you for stopping by here in the meantime!

We just got back from the beach a couple of days ago, and since we’ve been back, all I can think about it our next beach trip in a couple of weeks! It’s a sickness, really, but I am drawn to the ocean. If we could live in Florida, we would be there in a heartbeat. It’s so peaceful and fun and relaxing and makes me so happy. I think it’s safe to say that it has rubbed off on Sophie, too. She wasn’t really sure about the sand at first but after about two seconds, she was running wild! I love her free spirit.

So, my beach bag essentials are simple, really. I don’t like to overcomplicate things and I honestly try to pack as light as possible for myself because I have to make room for sippy cups and diapers, these days. So, here are my essentials:

This spring and summer, I am very excited to do a little bit of traveling! We have a trip coming up later this month, one in May, and two possible trips in June! I love to travel, and while we haven’t done as much exploring since we have had kids, we are trying to make more of an effort this year – even if that means we take them with us! You may recall that we just took a road trip over spring break to Florida. Seven hours in a car with the three babies. It was long, but they actually did a lot better than I had anticipated. We went through several rural areas and all I could think about was if something happened to the car, what would we do?

Hampton is starting a Mother’s Morning Out program in 3 weeks, so we are about to be thrown into all of the back-to-school hoopla for the first time. We are excited and I am feeling all of the emotions. But, first, we are going on one last summer vacation to the beach with some good friends of ours! We are beyond excited. Sophie has only been to the beach a couple of times for little day trips at my grandmother’s house, so I am excited to let her explore a little bit more. I think this is the first time we are going on an actual beach trip as a family of four, so we are thrilled to make new memories. One thing I have already been planning and packing is our beach bag. With two little ones, you can never be too prepared. I like to have all my bases covered when it comes to our beach bag essentials and be ready for every possible scenario – sunburn, sickness, irritated eyes, etc.

FabFitFun Summer 2016 Box Review

Last week, I got all kinds of happy mail. If you follow me on Snapchat (LoganCan) you saw some sneak peeks of the goodies I received! I was most excited to get my FabFitFun Summer 2016 box! I had seen it advertised and knew it had some great goodies in it. With all of my Nordstrom Sale purchases coming in, it is easy to get caught up in the excitement of fall coming, but summer is still in full swing here in the south. We will have hot days through mid-October. In fact, we still have a beach trip planned in a few more weeks that my goodies will really come in handy for.
