We had a fairly casual weekend this week which was so nice and great timing! Ryan is out of town this week, so it gave us a chance to really spend some quality time together as a family before he left. My in-laws kept the babies for us on Saturday while we went out to eat lunch which was a much needed break. We were so excited to get out for a minute on our own and be able to eat at a restaurant without the marathon of sippy cups, bottles, toys, snacks, etc.
A Warmer Weekend and Baby Shower
Happy Monday, y’all! Oh, and happy leap day! Leap years are so cool to me but it definitely threw me off today. I definitely had March 1st written at the top of my to-do list. Whoops! Remember about a month ago when I announced that my cousin is pregnant with twins? I had the pleasure of driving to her hometown this weekend and celebrating these sweet little babies by throwing her a shower! A few of her friends and I got together to host a brunch for this beautiful mommy-to-be and let me tell you, she looked amazing! She is now officially less than 2 months from her goal birth date so we are getting so excited to meet these two little angels!
Things are Getting Christmas-y
While it’s no secret that things have been a little crazy over here since our move, we are getting very Christmas-y over here! Presents and officially started being wrapped, I’m 2 small gifts away from being through with my Christmas shopping (I hope), and we have been baking up a storm these last two weeks! I even took the kids to see Santa yesterday! Finally!
Why is Hamp not pictured you ask? Well, this Santa (or should I say “Ho Ho”?) loving boy was so excited to wear his special Christmas outfit, and cowboy boots to meet the big man himself! He talked about it the whole way to Bass Pro and he was giggling while we waited in line. When it was our turn to sit in Santa’s lap, one of us freaked out and started screaming and crying. I’m not pointing fingers at anyone but…
SR loved Santa! He held her for a long time. She stared at him and grabbed his beard a few times (bless him) and he just giggled and giggled. Santa told us all about his 10 month old granddaughter and how much SR reminded him of her. Who knew Santa had grandchildren? Not I!
Hamp did get really excited to take his picture with the snowman. I love how cute Bass Pro shop always sets up their “North Pole” for the kids. It is seriously adorable. We like to go there for Santa because they give you a free picture and allow you to take your own. I love that!
Hamp and SR helped me hang their new ornaments for this year (from Pottery Barn Kids) and it was pretty precious. Tonight we are getting ready for our family’s big Christmas party happening tomorrow! As always, I’ll be sure to Snapchat the event, so follow me (logancan)! Have a great weekend and I hope you get all of your shopping done!
Do you have any holiday events this weekend?
Time for Cocoa…and Surprises
Top: c/o I Do Declare Boutique // Blanket Scarf: Nordstrom // Ponte Pants: The LOFT // Booties: Target
Very few things surprise me these days. So many crazy things have happened in the last 5 years of my life that I hardly flinch at things most people would be completely derailed by, however, I was surprised last week. I won’t get into everything that surprised me…yet, but let’s just say, we serve an awesome God. He is faithful to us even when we aren’t. He is always working and moving and just when I stop paying attention to that, BOOM He dang near shocks me. Big things are happening and big changes are coming our way and I am so excited about them (and no, I’m not pregnant).
We are off to my cousin’s wedding tomorrow and I am so looking forward to spending time with my family that I don’t get to see very often. I am looking forward to visiting my home away from home and relaxing at the beach. Be sure to follow along on Snapchat (Logancan) and Instagram!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and don’t forget to check out I Do Declare Boutique on Facebook and Instagram!
Comfy
What does comfy mean to you? To me, “comfy” means leggings and an oversized sweatshirt on a cold winter day. Snuggling by the fireplace with a cup of coffee and devouring a novel. It means cuddling with my babies on the couch and going for long walks around the neighborhood in my worn sneakers. Comfy is my husband and our home that we bought and created together.
When I am having my time of the month, the only thing I want to be is…you guessed it – Comfy! I can’t always wear sweatpants and lay around, in fact I hardly ever have time to lay around these days, but U by Kotex® Curves Liners keep me feeling comfy no matter what clothes or undies I am wearing. They keep me from being paranoid and make me feel at ease throughout my day. I feel like I can tackle anything and not have to worry about an embarrassing situation. They are now offered in bright bold colors and the designs are so fun!
This week, I have been laying around with SR and Hampton since he broke his ankle and can’t walk on it. Ryan has been out of town all week and just got back in late last night, so we have been pretty lazy and pitiful. Being comfortable has been key. For me, and especially for my boy!

Weekend Shenanigans
This past weekend was so busy, but a fun kind of busy. Friday afternoon, I bought Hamp a little pool for our backyard for $5 on clearance at Walmart! I just couldn’t pass up that price or the chance at making my son’s day! Sure enough, I spent the rest pf the afternoon and Saturday morning in the pool with him! We even got fancy and put his little slide in the pool! I’m a cool mom! haha
Saturday afternoon we enjoyed time at Target…and when I say “we” I mean me. Ryan always dreads going to Target because he claims we can never leave without buying things we don’t really need. I have no idea what he is talking about! I needed those 2 new books that I bought!
After our Target run, we headed to my nephew’s 3rd birthday party! It was so much fun! Everything was decorated so cute. He is very into Paw Patrols right now. I am new to this because it is apparently a little over Hampton’s head right now, but he loved playing with the Paw Patrol toys, so it may not belong before we are in that phase, too. I wouldn’t mind a break from Thomas the Train.
Sunday, after church, I went to one of my childhood friend’s baby shower! She is having a little girl this October and I couldn’t be happier for her! She is going to be a wonderful mommy! It seems like so many friends are getting pregnant again! I can’t wait to meet all of these precious babies!
My best friend is finding out the gender of her baby this morning and I am going to lunch with her today after her appointment! I Can Not Wait. She has a little boy that is a few months older than Hampton and they are kind of adorable together! Now I just can’t wait to find out if SR will have a BFF or a boyfriend!
So many exciting things are happening right now. I’m so excited for all of my friends and I love celebrating and rejoicing in their happy news!
What did you do last weekend? Have you noticed a lot of preggers lately?
4th of July 2015
We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We celebrated my MIL’s, Mama’s, Cousin’s and Aunt’s birthdays, laid by the pool, went to a parade, enjoyed a ball game, played with sparklers and ate…a lot! It was absolutely the perfect weekend with my awesome family! It made me so excited for our cruise next month! I can’t wait to spend more time with the ones I love!
How did you celebrate the 4th?
Father’s Day 2015
This Father’s Day weekend was a good one! Friday night we stayed in, popped popcorn and watched a movie. It was So. Nice. On Saturday, I went on a little mini shopping spree where I bought myself a new book and then stumbled into Dillard’s where they happened to be having a sale! I snagged a tank and dress from Gianni Bini at 65% off and bought Ryan some blue seersucker shorts at 40% off! I felt like I hit pay dirt!
Saturday night, we celebrated Father’s Day with my dad and also celebrated my sister-in-law’s birthday! We ate a delicious meal at Olive Garden (my cheat meal for the week) which is my favorite! Give me all the pasta!
Father’s day fell on the first day of summer which was appropriate because it was beautiful and HOT outside. We spent the afternoon at Ryan’s parent’s house where H and his cousin played really hard. They are so adorable together. When we pulled in, H ran to his cousin chick flick style – arms outstretched. It was precious. It also happened to be national wear your Lily Pulitzer day! I wore mine on Saturday night, but Rae took part in it as you can see. 🙂 My little preppy diva!
(Rae is not a fan of the sunlight. haha) |
Late Sunday afternoon, we got a phone call. Someone wanted to see our house. Yes, we officially put our house back on the market last Monday and we have already shown it twice! Y’all please pray it sells quickly! It has been 15 months since we listed it (the first time) and we are hoping after taking it off the market for a month and now listing it at a lower price that it will sell. Fingers crossed.
All of the dads in our family were spoiled this weekend! It was a blessing being able to be with all of them.
How was your Father’s Day weekend? Did you do anything special?
Patriotic S’mores Bar and Caramel Macchiato Spread
Poms and Pineapples
This weekend was one for the books! My grandparents drove up from Florida to meet SR for the first time, and let me just tell you, it was love at first sight. My grandmother would not put her down. It was pretty precious!
My sister also surprised us by coming home for the weekend and I was so excited to see her! We always have so much fun together.
I saw these adorable Pom pom shorts on Samantha’s blog and fell in love with them. So, obviously, I ordered me some. They are kind of perfect. I have always loved bright colors. I am really excited that neon is so popular this year. I feel like my wardrobe is actually in style! Give me all the neon.
This adorable pineapple necklace and druzy bangle are from Lemon Sweet Jewelry on Etsy! I am so in love with this shop and their jewelry! I am also loving this bee necklace and this gold feather necklace. Seriously some of the cutest jewelry I’ve seen in a while.
Something else amazing happened this weekend! Ryan and I were strolling through Target shopping for a birthday present when I saw stuffed in the back of a shelf a pair of Lilly Pulitzer pineapple sandals IN MY SIZE. Probably the last LP item left in our entire store. It was fate. I was so excited and of course bought them. I have been on cloud 9 ever since!
