Well, I was really hoping we would all feel better by now, but unfortunately we are still under the weather. Playing outside last night in all of the pollen probably didn’t help. We were all yellow by the time we came back inside. Don’t you love this time of year in the south? A Relaxing Weekend

The kids and I have been a little under the weather this past weekend. We have all developed little colds that I am sure is from the weather being 80 degrees and then 45. We went from playing outside in shorts and tank tops one minute to freezing cold in sweatshirts the next. As most of you other mothers know, it is so tough to take care of sick kids while you are sick too. So, it’s been a fun few days. The positive side of it? We have definitely caught up on lots of snuggle time and watched cute little movies and shows with the babies. Of course, their attention span when it comes to T.V. is 10 minutes when we get lucky, but Hamp did make it through an entire episode of Paw Patrol.

Toddler Activities To Do With Your Child Every Day

I have friends who ask me all the time how I structure the day for my kids as a SAHM and what sort of things I do with them every day. Having one toddler and one baby, I have found that having some sort of routine/schedule/structure works best for us as a family. A lot of people throw schedules out of the window and live by the whole “come what may” philosophy, but that mindset doesn’t work well for us. My kids function better when they have a routine than when they do not. In fact, most holidays end in some sort of tantrum because the kids are not on their normal routine. When they don’t get their naps at a certain time, they are miserable. So, here are a few toddler activities tat I do with my kids every day to keep some sort of structure in place.

Too Early To Wear White?

My answer? NEVER! I love to wear white year-round! Plus, Easter is less than 2 weeks away so in my book, that is close enough to be totally acceptable. I found this adorable tank at TJ Maxx the other day and fell in love with it! I don’t wear a lot of linen because I hate to iron, but I loved this top too much to pass up. I wear tanks pretty much every day during the summer, so I know I will get a ton of use out of it this year.

Weekend Snapshots

We had a fairly casual weekend this week which was so nice and great timing! Ryan is out of town this week, so it gave us a chance to really spend some quality time together as a family before he left. My in-laws kept the babies for us on Saturday while we went out to eat lunch which was a much needed break. We were so excited to get out for a minute on our own and be able to eat at a restaurant without the marathon of sippy cups, bottles, toys, snacks, etc.

I am a huge fan of brunch. In fact, lately my kids have been waking up earlier and that means we eat earlier, so lunch has felt more like brunch around our house. Mom Guilt

I remember when we first found out I was pregnant with Sophie. My heart immediately broke for Hampton. I looked at this little 9 month old and felt so guilty that he was only a baby and would soon be a big brother. It didn’t seem right. I felt like I was being robbed of time with my baby boy, in a weird way. He was barely a toddler when she was born and he had a very hard time with it. Over the months, that guilt faded as I began watching them play together and laugh at each other. Hampton can cheer Sophie up a lot quicker than I can most days. She adores him and he loves her so much. They are the best little buddies.

Happy Monday everyone! We had a fun and busy weekend, but today it is back on the grind! I can’t wait to tell you all about the little brunch I hosted for my best friend this weekend as well as the much needed friend time I got. We played outside a lot and I even went jogging for the fist time in a couple of weeks which felt awesome at the time, but I am suffering for that time off today. Ouch.
