One healthy goal I made for myself over a year ago was to eat something green every day. There are a lot of days that this is really easy for me, and lately, I have gotten off of my health kick and have not been eating as well. I am trying to reevaluate why I want to be healthy in the first place and that #1 reason is for my ids. I’ve said it many times before, but I want to be healthy so I can live a long and active life! I want to be able to run around with my kids AND grandkids one day!
Weekly Goals and a Giveaway
This week is going to be very exciting and busy for our family! Ryan has a big week with work related things, we are having Sophie’s 1 year photos taken (pinch me) along with some family shots, and lots of other fun things. In the midst of our busy, there are a few things I have to get done this week. Sometimes, I get so caught up in life’s little tasks that I don’t focus enough on what really matters. Last week was one of those weeks. I’m embarrassed to say that Hamp asked me to take him to the park nearly every day last week and I didn’t take him. I am determined to take him this week at some point!
Weekly Goals and To-Dos:
- Put outfits together for photos and iron them.
- Address Sophie’s Birthday invitations and mail them.
- Post more to Instagram (I was MIA last week).
- Take the kids to the park.
- Exercise every day.
- Catch up on laundry.
- Grow my social media.
- Find a new blog to read.
Now the fun part! A group of bloggers and I have teamed up to bring you another amazing giveaway. One lucky winner will take home an authentic Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, a pair of designer sunglasses, and a gold iPad mini. Open to international contestants and must be 18+. Please review the full Terms & Conditions prior to entering. The more accounts you follow, the more chances you have of winning! Good luck.
T.G.I.F.
This week, we have been so out of sorts. Sophie has had Hand, Foot and Mouth, so she hasn’t been sleeping and has basically been miserable. Hampton (finally) climbed out of his crib this week and fell pretty hard. It hurt him and scared him, so we decided it was time to take off the rail and flip his crib into a toddler bed. That seemed like a great idea and it was definitely time, but he has been waking up around 5 every morning and ready to play. I don’t do 5a.m. so well. I’m definitely more of a night owl, especially lately, so this has been a big adjustment.
Lilly Pulitzer New Arrival Favorites
Now that spring break is officially over, I have been really itching to get down to the beach. We live about 3 hours away from Gulf Shores and about 4 hours from my favorite beach – Destin! This warmer weather has been calling my name. We weren’t able to go to the beach very much last year and it made me so sad. I love being there and I’m pretty sure I was born to be a beach girl. I love the feeling of sand between my toes and the soothing sounds of the waves. Nothing says relaxing like a comfy beach chair and my latest novel.
I have been getting flooded with emails lately from one of my favorite brands – Lilly Pulitzer (thank you for tempting me, ladies!). I normally only buy one or two pieces a year because they are so expensive and I love to wait for their end of season sales to really save money on their clothes. I don’t own a ton of LP, but what I do have, I love. I have been obsessing over their new arrivals this week and kind of want one of each. A girl can dream, can’t she? I love their clothes because they are so bright and cheery! They make me happy when I wear them and that’s what clothes should do, right? So, while my sister laughs at me for loving these crazy patterns so much, I’m going to keep on dreaming of owning more of them! Here are just a FEW of my favorites:
6 Ways to Beat Stress

Every new year, I start seeing resolutions fill up my news feeds. I see people starting new jobs, new diets, new exercise plans – all with the sole purpose of overcoming something or improving themselves in some way. Goals are great! Bettering your self is wonderful! What’s even better is seeing people achieving their goals a few months later. Each stage of life has many stresses and I have seen so many people going through a hard time or putting a lot of pressure on themselves to do it all. It messes with a lot of people. It messes with me sometimes when my expectations become the expectations I think others have for me. When I start trying to please everyone else is when I lose focus and become very stresses.
Some Things in Life Are Obvious, Like Captain Obvious
Some things in life are just plain obvious. For example, it is obvious that Carrie Underwood is gorgeous and an amazing vocalist. It is obvious that Ben was an awesome Bachelor and it is totally obvious who should win the 2016 presidential election…Captain Obvious!
Sophie is 11 Months
How can it be that my little bitty baby girl is 11 months old? We are ONE month away from her turning ONE! This is just insane. Time is the one thing I feel like I never have enough of and this last month has been a huge reminder of that. We have been running around working, going from one place to another and things have been really hectic. In the midst of the crazy, I took a moment to look at my baby girl. I stopped what I was doing (okay, maybe because I was sick for a week), and I really looked at her and thought, where has the time gone?
You are getting so big. You don’t like to cuddle anymore. I watched you take your first step last week. I saw you experience your first Easter. You were tackled by your big brother for the first time (of many, I’m sure). You have been sick this week and haven’t been as happy, but you are normally grinning from ear to ear and always clapping – your favorite trick. You have become really loud and are quite the little talker. You are the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen. Your personality is perfect and I have enjoyed these 11 months with you more than you will ever know.
While I am sad to see your first year come to a close, I am excited to watch you continue to grow. Learn words. Play with your brother and make friends. I’m excited for you to walk so you can finally run outside with your brother and cousin. I’m excited to teach you how to do your first plie. I can’t wait to watch you play dress up and eat sugar for the first time at your party. I am excited to watch you turn into a beautiful lady. But first, please stay little. Don’t ever be in a hurry to grow up because I promise you, it is overrated. Play as much and as hard as you can and be my sweet baby girl forever. Be kind to everyone no matter what. Love the Lord with all of your heart and always put him first in everything. I love you, angel!

Easter 2016
This year, it rained most of the day on Easter, so we scheduled our egg hunt for Saturday! It was so laid back and nice. We had a huge shrimp boil and ate outside after the kids finished hunting eggs and our hearts and bellies were very happy.
How to Get a Natural Glow Without the Harmful Effects of the Sun

Here in Alabama, we have already had a few weeks of pretty warm weather. That’s not to say it’s here to stay, though, because it has been known to snow in April around here. Nothing surprises me. This year however, it has definitely been warm pretty early and I’m not complaining one bit. Bring on the warm sunny days! It has been warm enough to wear shorts, but I’ve felt a little embarrassed because I am so pale. Ghostly, even. I’m practically glowing – and not in a good way. I am really ready to have a little color on my skin, but I would love to get a natural glow without having to worry about the harmful effects of the sun.
A Car Emergency Kit For Baby

We’ve all been in sticky situations where we were out running errands and our baby has a blowout and we realize we have no extra outfit with us or worse – we are out of diapers. I’ve been there more than once. In fact, on our way home from Jacksonville a few weeks ago, Sophie had been crying and crying and I thought she was just fighting sleep because I had JUST changed her diaper. It couldn’t be that. Right? Wrong. She had a blowout and it was all over her outfit and her car seat. I had nothing with me to clean it up with so we had to make a stop at the next exit and stop at a gas station to clean it up the best we could. I felt so bad that I had ignored her screaming and played it off on something else.
