Well I am about 15 1/2 weeks along and still very sick. I was so hoping it would pass soon but there has been no sign of that happening. I’m still craving tomatoes daily and still walking about a mile and a half every day. I’m hoping that second trimester energy I have been promised by so many will come soon.

I went to the doctor today and had a great check up! The heartbeat was 153. I love hearing that little heartbeat. It brings tears to my eyes and makes the sickness so worth it.

I’m getting very excited to find out the sex of our baby in a couple of weeks! I seriously can’t hardly stand it! I’m so ready to start buying little baby clothes and setting up the nursery. The office is almost cleared out. We still have a little work to do in there, but it is coming along.

Have I told y’all how excited I am to have an October baby? October is my favorite month. We celebrate our anniversary and Ryan’s birthday in October, not to mention Halloween!! I’m a Halloween fanatic. I blame it on my mom because we have always thrown a big Halloween party every year and go all out. It is so fitting that our first child will be an October baby. God’s timing is definitely perfect.

In my next baby update, I will be revealing the gender! What do you think it is?

Cravings: Tomatoes, Grapes, Sugary snacks
Total Weight Gain: 5 lbs.
Chinese Gender Calendar says: Girl (although I’m not all that convinced of it’s accuracy)
Baby Bump: I started showing early – around 10 weeks I had a noticeable bump. It hasn’t grown too much since then.
Heartbeat: 153 per minute

Let the guessing begin!!

Hello lovely ladies (and gents?)! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. It’s almost Friday! Whoop whoop!! I don’t know about you, but the month of May is always so packed full of exciting events for us and our families. The craziness is starting this weekend and I can’t wait. We will be celebrating graduations, birthdays AND we will find out the gender of our baby! I can hardly contain my excitement!

I have been feeling so much better this week. I’ve only thrown up about 4 of the last 7 days which is AMAZING. I feel like I can actually do things again. I also started pilates this week. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. It’s a nice change when I don’t feel like walking. I’ve still been craving tomatoes and eating about one or two a day. At least it’s a healthy craving, right? Although I’m afraid our baby will come out red.  The baby is 3 inches long and is the size of a lemon according to babycenter. I go back for another appointment next week and will schedule my ultrasound (EEkKK)!

On another exciting note, I traded in my car for a SUV last Friday. It’s been an adjustment but a really good one. We have been wanting a SUV for a while now and with the baby on it’s way, and enough money saved up it seemed like the perfect time.

How far along? 13 1/2 weeks
Baby Size: almost 3 inches long about the size of a kiwi.
Total weight gain: 3lbs. (yikes!)
Maternity clothes? Not yet! My jeans are starting to get uncomfortable so I’ve been wearing a lot of nike shorts and dresses.
Food cravings: Grapes and Tomatoes. I loved them before I was pregnant but nothing like this. I’ve gone through 2 bags of grapes and 5 tomatoes so far this week.
Feeling: I’ve still been pretty nauseous and extremely tired. Yesterday was my worst sick day so far. I couldn’t even keep down saltines. I felt like I had a stomach virus it was so bad. I’m definitely ready for the sickness to pass, or at least not hit me every day.
Best moment this week: Meeting my best friends baby. He is so precious and it made me really excited for our little one.
Sleep: I’ve been waking up at least 2 times per night to use the bathroom. Other than that I’ve been sleeping okay.
Miss Anything? COFFEE!! I know a lot of women still drink coffee during pregnancy, but I gave it up just to be safe and it is killing me! I’ve gone 9 weeks without it. Also, queso dip. I love Mexican food and not eating cheese dip has been so difficult.
Movement: No movement yet. I think I’m still several weeks from that, but I can’t wait to feel a kick for the first time!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat and eggs.
Looking forward to: Starting my second trimester in a couple of days! Hopefully I will start to feel better then.
Best Pregnancy Moment: When Ryan bought me From Pea to Pumpkin: A Pregnancy Journal. I have loved keeping up with everything in this journal from week to week. It also shows your baby’s size and weight each week. It was the perfect gift and I highly recommend it.

This past weekend was amazing. My best friend since kindergarten had her first baby! Baby B is the most precious thing I’ve ever laid eyes on (other than my nephews of course). It is so hard to believe that he is finally here. I can’t get enough of him and those bright blue eyes. I met him about 2 hours after he was born and he was so wide eyed. I’ve never seen a newborn that awake so soon after birth. Congratulations to my beautiful friend and her husband! I’m so happy for them.

On Saturday, we had a huge yard sale at our house. It was a huge help in getting us to clean out our house to help make room for baby Cantrell. We are turning our office into the nursery because we felt that it was best to keep the guest room since we have people come stay with us often. The yard sale was a success and the extra $300 made it well worth it. Later that afternoon, we spent some time at Ryan’s uncle’s farm with his family. It is always good to see all of them. My oldest nephew is walking now and it is probably the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while. He is everywhere!

Sunday after church, we headed to Dothan (south Alabama) for my cousin’s baby shower. She is the cutest pregnant girl I’ve ever seen. She is very petite and all belly. She is due in May and I can’t wait to meet baby G! He is going to be very spoiled for sure. Alesha received some wonderful gifts.

God is so good. I can’t thank Him enough for this weekend full of blessings.

Hello hello! I am so sorry I haven’t been writing lately. I have been a little preoccupied by this growing baby in my tummy! That’s right, we are expecting a BABY!!! Little Cantrell is coming in October and we are thrilled! It has been a very hard secret to keep these last couple of months since I have been sick pretty much the whole time. I have been anxiously awaiting this moment FOREVER (so it seems).

We told our families on Easter Sunday just before lunch and they were ecstatic. We put letters that spelled out “Logan is Pregnant” in Easter eggs and my mom tried to play it off as one of her holiday games. At first, everyone was spelling out “Easter,” “He is Risen,” etc., until my grandmother spelled out “nesting” and that got everyone in the right frame of mind. After that, it didn’t take long for them to figure it out. I loved that my mom took a picture of everyone’s reaction. These pictures are something I will always treasure.

Everyone trying to figure out the puzzle…
I love everyone’s face in this one!

On the other hand, I’m not really sure how Pippa is going to handle it. She won’t be an only child anymore and that will be devastating to her, but I’m sure she will adjust.

Up to this point, I’ve been craving horrible food. Week 8, all I could/would eat is Zaxby’s. Terrible for me and baby, but I’ve been eating better this week. I went to the Doctor for my 12 week appointment today and everything looked great. She said I have a very “active” baby. I have only gained 1 pound since my last visit which is pretty exciting but I will probably start gaining about a pound a week from here on.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers during this special time. I am so excited to finally share this wonderful news with all of you!
