We had such a fun 4th of July this year. Our whole family got together and it was so fun to see and hang out with all of our cousins. We went to the parade, swam at my parent’s house, ate some delicious food and then watched fireworks! It was the perfect 4th of July with my favorite people! My kids went straight through nap time and dropped by the end of the night. To me, that’s a sign of a good day. I hope you guys had a great 4th! Here are some photos from our day:

Now for today’s Friday Five!
Five outfits from the week:
I shared three outfits in my post yesterday, so be sure to check them out! The other two I am excited to share is what I wore on the 4th of July this year, and a cute and comfy lounge outfit!
Tank // Shortalls // Sandals // Bandana
Top Five Sales in June:
My top five sales in June were once again all over the place, but y’all were loving the books and comfy clothes this month. Probably because it is HOT and everyone has beach on the mind, right? This tank was #1! Y’all loved it as much as I do! This book was #2 (I just got my copy and can’t wait to read it), my favorite basic tank was #3, my most-worn denim shorts this season were #4 and #5 was this cute top from Nordstrom that I shared on my Facebook page. If you don’t follow me on Facebook, be sure to go over and do so because I post more sales there than anywhere else!
Five things to Add to your Nordstrom Sale Checklist:
As you all know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 is coming up next Thursday! Yep, SIX days! I recommend having a checklist of things you need so that you don’t get sucked into the vortex and overspend. Go look in your closet and see what you need to replace or something you may need that you do not own. This is the perfect time to grab brand new fall and winter styles at a discounted price. Five things to add to your list:
Boots and Booties – I have my eye on one pair in particular this year that I need because I do not own any in a certain style. I will definitely be snagging those up and some new booties. I like to choose colors that go with everything – taupe or gray.
Leggings and Denim – I highly recommend snagging some Zella leggings. These are one of my favorite brands and are affordable – especially when they are on sale. These are always my biggest seller and I personally own two pairs of the black and wear them more than anything else. They are great for working out and to wear with oversized sweaters, tunics, etc. They definitely need to be on your list. You can also find designer denim on sale, so now is a great time to grab a good pair of skinny jeans if you need some.
Workout Clothes (sneakers, fitness apparel) – it’s a great time to grab some Nikes on sale!
Sweaters and cardigans – I love to buy a good cardigan or two, one that is more basic and goes with everything and one that is more trendy. I also like to look for a good Free People pullover during this sale.
Jackets and Coats – My suede jacket from last year was so popular and I absolutely love it! You can get this season’s must-have jackets and coats on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, so why not?
Bonus tip: This is also a great time to shop for Christmas gifts. I have one in mind already for someone and will be shopping for a couple of Christmas gifts during this sale.
Five New Discoveries:
I am completely obsessed with Yasso Greek Yogurt Ice Cream and Bars (this is not sponsored at all)! They are a much healthier option if you have a big sweet tooth like I do. They have a good amount of protein, are gluten free, have no artificial sweeteners in them and are so delicious. They are only around 120 calories per bar or serving! So good!
My $8 Walmart Cup – okay, this is not super new, but I am obsessed with these cups. I drink out of them every day and they are just as good as a Yeti, but under $10! They are so worth the cost and then some! I’m actually planning to go pick up another one this weekend because they are so good.
My Tarte toasted palette – A tragedy turned blessing. Okay, that may be a bit dramatic, but I knocked my Urban Decay naked 2 palette (that I have used forever) off the counter a few weeks ago and it broke all of the eyeshadows and went everywhere. It was one of those things that happens and makes you sick to your stomach. haha I decided to try the Tarte Toasted palette to change things up a bit for the summer and I am obsessed! The colors are different but so beautiful and vibrant. I feel like they have given my face a little more life.
Tone it Up Protein – you guys know I’m a TIU girl if you’ve been around here any amount of time. I love doing their workouts and while I’ve been plenty tempted to try their perfect fit protein powder, I never have…until last week! I decided to start really getting after it with my fitness routines again and I grabbed some of this protein at Target and have been making smoothies with it every day since then. It is SO GOOD! I am going to make the perfect fit protein pancakes this weekend and I will report back and let you know how those are!
I just started this book on Monday after another blogger recommended it and it is really good. If you have any negativity in your life – whether it is coming from within yourself, another person or an impossible situation, I encourage you to read it. It does seem basic in some ways, but it is a really great perspective and I think it is relevant to everyone. It’s really good and has already helped me see some things in a new light that I really need right now.
This post has gotten a little long, so I’m going to stop there for today! I hope you have a great 4th of July and hope to see you guys back here on Monday and to shop bright and early Thursday for all my Nordstrom cardholders! Have a great weekend!
