I am by no means a fashionista, so you can imagine my surprise shock when eShakti contacted me to review their clothes. I’m typically a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, but I am a girl – which means I do enjoy dressing up every once in a while. They gave me the choice to pick one item for review so I chose this dress. I thought it was perfect because I could dress it up or down, depending on what I accessorize it with. The collar thing is really popular right now, which I attribute to what I call the “Zooey Deschanel” style. I’m a little obsessed with her so I am excited to own a dress that I’m pretty sure she would rock. I love eShakti because it is different than any other online women’s shop.
What do you think? Should I take up modeling? (sarcasm) |
eShakti offers customization on every product – sizes 0-36. All you have to do is plug in your measurements and pay a small fee. I know that if you are tall and slim it can be difficult finding something that fits really well. Or if you’re like me, you may be tall, slender and have a big butt. It’s really unfortunate because I have a hard time finding clothes that fit correctly. It can be frustrating. eShakti is pretty true to size, however, I am a pretty solid size 4 and could have easily fit in the 2 because this 4 was a little big in the waist. They also have an option where you can change the sleeve length, skirt length and neck line on any dress, shirt, sweater, etc. How awesome is that?
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dress as well. When ordering online you never know what you’re going to get. The dress was made of high quality material. They offer quality clothes for an affordable price. What more could you want? I definitely recommend that you all go check them out!
Adulation by Elisa Lorello
Amazon Publishing
2012
Format: e-book
First Line: Of all the things Danny Masters was told he should be afraid of- terrorists and E. coli and Toyotas yet to be recalled and the so-called homosexual agenda- nothing frightened him as much as the blank screen.
Synopsis from Goodreads: Celebrity screenwriter Danny Masters has the world at his feet. He’s dating a movie-star bombshell and his latest screenplay is a shoe-in for an Oscar. But he’s empty.
With few accomplishments to her credit, longtime bookstore employee Sunny Smith celebrates her fortieth birthday by setting forty goals for herself. Sleeping with her writing idol, Danny Masters, makes the list.
At the premiere of Danny’s new film, the two have a brief but enchanting exchange outside the theater. And after Danny insults the audience during the post-screening Q&A session, he’s thrilled to see Sunny in his autograph line. But as he gently takes her hand, Sunny spits Danny’s insults back at him.
The next day, to her horror, Sunny discovers a video of her tirade has gone viral. Instead of being angry, Danny is more determined than ever to find Sunny — and apologize. And once their lives intersect again, there’ll be no turning back.
My Thoughts: This was my first time to read Elisa Lorello, and it will not be my last. I have fallen in love with the way she writes. I loved this story because it was about real people that anyone could relate to and real situations that more and more people are having to adapt to this day in time (divorce, children, having a hard time putting yourself back out there after divorce).
Danny Masters is the “Master” of screenplays. He has won several Emmy’s and other awards. He is divorced, has a daughter named Ella and is dating the beautiful actress, Charlene. At his premiere of Exposed he runs into aspiring author and stockroom girl, Sunny. Sunny is divorced and has had a hard time getting back into the game of dating. For her fortieth birthday, her two best friends, Georgie and Theo, take her to the premiere after giving her a major makeover and creating the “40 in 40” list. She is crazy about Danny but he wouldn’t ever notice a girl like her…or would he? Sunny has had a hard time overcoming her past as her ex humiliated her in front of all of Long Island. Danny can’t forgive himself for an accident no matter how long ago it happened or how much he does and gives as reconciliation – it will never be enough.
This book is about forgiveness, confidence in ones self and overcoming the past. If you enjoy romance novels, you will love this book. Adulation was anything but dull. It was fun, romantic and exciting. It made me laugh and made me cry, then gave me chills. I read through this book very quickly because I couldn’t put it down. I really hope there is a sequel to this book because Lorello left me wanting to read more. I gave this book five stars.

Hey Southern Sunflowers & Coffee Beans Readers! I’m Taylor and I blog over at Goings on in Texas. I am so excited to be Guest Posting for Logan and sharing this Burlap Wreath tutorial!! 🙂
But first here’s a bit about me…
I am a Petroleum Landman, Certified Personal Trainer, Used Car Lot Owner, Landlord, Christ follower, Entrepreneur, Crafter, DIYer, Cook, Organizer, Gardener, Traveler, Singer, Book-a-holic, Shoe Lover, Talker, Wife and probably a whole lot more, but that paints you a picture, I’m sure. 😉 I blog about my life and everything in between. I hope you’ll follow me on my blogging journey! 🙂
So, the other day (well, actually like a couple of weeks ago) I posted on my Instagram account {follow me: skichic95} a Burlap Wreath that I “whipped” up. And seriously. It was my first ever attempt at this wreath. And let me tell you….SUPER SIMPLE!!
And y’all it’s time for you to learn this SUPER SIMPLE wreath!! 🙂
You.are.welcome. 😉 LOL
Here’s what you’ll need:
Wreath Form (I picked up mine at Hobby Lobby for $2.99. It’s the middle size, I think 12 inch in diameter.)
Burlap (I picked up these 2 rolls from Michaels for $5.99/each. Each roll is 10 yards. I didn’t quite use the entire 2nd roll.)
Okay, time to start crafting…
Start by taking the end of your burlap…
and making a loop. Your first loop needs to be about 4-5 inches tall (so 8-10 inches total from the end of your burlap).
Now take the very center of your loop and pinch it and then push it through the lower space in the wreath form.
Then once you get it through (leaving an inch or so on the other end), puff it back up with your fingers.
Now, after your first loop is through and puffy to your liking, twist the burlap tail a bit (like you are going to ring out a towel)…
and then push some more burlap through the middle space in the wreath form. You don’t have to create another loop on the bottom side before pushing through the hole. Just push the burlap as it is using one of your fingers and then pull it and start shaping it the way you want.
Continue with this twisting, pushing through and puffing up the burlap. You don’t have to twist the burlap each time before you create a new loop, only when you feel that the burlap is all going in the same direction. This is what it looks like with 3 loops through each layer within the form.
After 6 loops…just keep on looping. Squish each loop down (counterclockwise) so you can squeeze more loops within each section of the wreath. You want to alternate lower, middle, upper, middle, lower…or however you want to make it look so that you can’t see any of the green wreath form.
This is what the back side looks like.
It’s 2/3rds finished and now it’s time to start the next burlap roll!! 🙂
The backside with a little tail showing from the tail end of the burlap roll. Simply start the next roll exactly how you started the first one.
The front of the finished Burlap Wreath!!
The back of the finished Burlap Wreath!!
SUPER SIMPLE right?!?! It takes me less than 30 minutes to complete one wreath. Once you are finished, time to embellish it!! I plan on adding my last name initial on one side and then thought about putting some velcro on the other side so that I could change out the seasonal items…so one wreath for the entire year.
The embellishment ideas are endless! So be creative and most of all have fun!! 🙂 Now go get your supplies!! 🙂 And come back and link up your finished product or tag me so I can see your creation!! 🙂
Until next time…
