Dressing my postpartum body is my least favorite part of having a baby. Maternity clothes are plentiful and even cute these days, but no one really helps out a whole lot when it comes to postpartum. I have not hid my frustration this time around with my lack of weight loss. In fact, after busting my lil for the last 5 1/2 weeks, I’ve only lost 5 pounds. Wah Wah. It’s not a fun process. If you’re like me (stubborn), you refuse to buy new pants because you will lose the weight and don’t want to waist money on pants you will wear for only another month or two. That’s how I feel.
Dressing my postpartum body has been tricky this time because the only place I really have weight to lose is my stomach and hips/butt. I really only have a couple more inches to lose to get back into my pre-pregnancy pants, and I am too small for my maternity jeans now, so what do I wear?
Leggings – These leggings are great for working out, wearing around the house and picking up Hamp from school or running errands. They are comfortable and hold everything in the right place if you know what I mean. I wear these almost every day.
Tunic – I have a couple of really good tunics that have been on repeat lately. I love tunics because they look great with leggings (and cover your butt) and they are loose and flow and hide all the extra fluff you don’t want anyone to see.
My Favorite Nursing Bra – I absolutely love this bra. I want about 5 more. It has been wonderful. It is padded and comfortable enough to sleep in or wear out. It is a game changer for my nursing mamas!
Comfy Shoes – I have been wearing these on repeat. Seriously, they are so comfortable and cute. I can easily chase the kids around and I like them because I normally wear nikes, so these kind of shake things up for me a little.
Loose Tee – Personally I love peplum tops because they flare out and are kind of mama’s best friend when it comes to tops!
Cardigan – I love my cardigans! They are so cozy and long enough to cover my butt when paired with leggings.
Pullover Sweater – I honestly loved having fall babies because I can wear big sweaters to cover up what I needed to and had a few months grace period to lose the weight. haha Pullover sweaters are wonderful!
Loose Off-Shoulder Dress – Loose dresses are a must when you are postpartum, but this one gets bonus points for being an off-shoulder dress as well. Off-Shoulder = easy access for nursing! That’s what I like to call a win-win!
Layering Tank – I have several layering tanks that I wear year round. I love to wear them under cardigans during the winter because it doesn’t get very cold here. I also love to wear them with denim shorts in the summer. I own a couple of neutral colors so they can easily pair with anything.
Nursing Tank – I wear these under everything! They are so nice to wear under a pullover sweater or paired with a cardigan! They are also super easy around the house.
If you have a spring or summer baby, elastic waisted shorts will be your best friend. They are all I wore after I had Sophie in May!

I have been super into Topshop’s Ivy Park leggings. They are so comfortable and have great coverage so I never feel exposed 😉
