Postpartum Weight Loss: My Favorite Tools

January 11, 2017

Postpartum weight loss can be really tricky. Getting back in shape this time around has been so much harder than after my first two pregnancies. The weight seemed to come right off in the first couple of months with the exception of those last 5 to 10 pounds that I had to start working to get off. This time my body has been completely different. My pregnancy was harder as far as aches and pains that were pretty much 24/7 towards the end. My aches and pains have not gone away. My body is taking a lot longer to heal this time and so my workouts have been a huge struggle.

Postpartum Weight Loss: My Favorite Tools

Favorite Tools for Postpartum Weight Loss:

Last week, I went back to my tried and true way of losing weight. Nursing alone has not helped me lose weight this time, so I knew it was time to shake things up. The My Fitness Pal app is my favorite for keeping track of calories consumed. I began logging everything in it again which makes me aware of how much I am consuming. It allows me to make sure I am eating enough to support my milk while not going overboard. It has been my absolute favorite app to use when it comes to postpartum weight loss.

Misfit Fitness Tracker Postpartum Weight Loss Tool

The second thing that has helped me has been the Misfit Ray Fitness Tracker. I am obsessed with this tracker for two reasons: It is much more stylish than other fitness trackers I have tried in the past and it is completely water proof! I can wear it in the bath tub, swimming, shower, washing dishes, etc. Therefore it really count ever calorie that I am burning throughout the day and night. It also keeps track of my sleep patterns which have been pretty pitiful lately as you can imagine. Getting up to feed Weston three times a night has been tough and exhausting and this track has definitely reflected that.

Since using both of these for a little over a week now, I have finally started losing weight. Using both of these tools while doing my daily Tone it Up workouts (they’re free, so check them out) has definitely set me up for success! I still have 15 lbs. to go to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I have a feeing that if I keep up with it as I have this past week, I will be able to get it off.

That fitness tracker is very stylish, and I love that it’s waterproof. The one thing that I don’t like about my Charge 2 is that it’s not waterproof, but I wanted the heart rate monitor aspect. Wishing you the best with your weight loss goals.

I like that fitness tracker. I used to have a fit bit and my main issue with it was that it was ugly. It just didn’t work with any outfit. This one looks stylish.

I have used a Misfit Shine in the past and it was really nice. I have a Fitbit now, which I like because you can read the time and steps right there on the band.

Breastfeeding never worked for me either. I had to sweat the hard way. You’re right, that is the most stylish fitness tracker I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the free daily tone-up workouts too!

I used to own Misfit and I loved their app but I’m a fitbit kind of girl right now. Even though I don’t have kids I decided to make a fitness statement this year and walk 10,000 steps a day. It’s been about two weeks and as of now I made my goal! I’m so happy seeing you achieving great results too!!!

I love the tools you use. I’ve been thinking about a fitbit or a tracker of some kind for a while, but then I just figure I won’t wear it and I need to go walk around the block a few times haha! I love your tips though, and I think the older I’ve gotten the harder it’s gotten for me to lose weight. My boyfriend loses weight overnight, and I’m over here eating rice cakes not losing a pound LOL! xx adaatude.com

I’ve been on the fence about buying a tracker on one hand it may motivate me to be more active, on the other I may just shake my arm around to trick it.
