Lately, Hampton and Sophie have been very possessive with their snacks. A few weeks ago, Hampton taught Sophie how to say “mine” and now it has become kind of a game with them. Not always a pleasant game. Sometimes they are playing and laughing over it, but other times they are really starting to fight over their precious snacks. They sneak each other’s when they run out, “mine, mine, mine.” I guess it’s a pretty normal sibling thing, but it is kind of funny hearing it from a two and one-year old. Toddler snack time is serious, folks.
With each passing day, Sophie is becoming more and more of a “little sister.” She loves to mess up Hampton’s lego tower after he works so hard to build the tallest one in the world. She takes great pleasure in messing up his train tracks after he gets them just right, and she loves to steal his sippy cups and snacks. Sometimes, I can’t help but laugh because it really is hilarious, but then I have to remind myself to be a responsible adult and mother and get on to her/teach her that we don’t take things that aren’t ours. It’s a constant struggle.
Our toddler snack time is a coveted time in our house. It is the time our kids look most forward to and it is one of my favorite times of the day. We have our big snack right after they wake up from their afternoon naps. They are typically in a great mood and really sweet. Yesterday, I caught Hampton sharing with Sophie and then saying “See, Soph? That’s how we share.” haha I laughed but it was so sweet. He is such a good big brother and is really patient with her most of the time. For that, I am very thankful.
One of our go-to snacks is the GerberĀ® Lil’ BeaniesTM. My toddlers love these! They can really go through them. We are always at Target (at least once a week) and they are so easy to pick up there. They normally keep my kids happy while we are doing the rest of our shopping. I am not above bribing them not to scream in the store. Be sure to take advantage of Target’s Ibotta offer on GerberĀ® Lil’ BeaniesTM while supplies last!
What are your kid’s favorite snacks?
