I am a third-time expectant mom – due in November! In case you haven’t noticed, we are roughly 2 months away from my due date. Yikes! I realized this fact over the weekend when I started having really strong braxton hicks contractions. You’ve got to love those! I had a moment of panic when I told Ryan that I had literally done nothing to prepare for this baby and we are getting so close to our due date and moving date. While it is true that you can reuse several things for second and third children, it is also important to purchase new essentials.
What Essentials I am Purchasing for Our Third Baby:
Diapers
Wipes
Playtex Baby™ Nurser® with Drop-Ins® Liners
Extra Drop-Ins Liners
New Pacifiers
Winter Clothing
Sleepers
Bulb Suction
Baby Soap and Lotion
Nail Clippers
Sheets
Hair Brush
I absolutely will not re-use baby bottles again. I tried doing this with Sophie, but bless her heart, the nipples were so stretched out that the milk came out way too fast for her. We learned our lesson this time and ran to Target – the one-stop shop for everything baby and place for baby registries – to pick up a few of the items we need like pacifiers and some new Playtex Baby™ Nurser® with Drop-Ins® Liners. I used these with both of my first two babies because they are great when you are breastfeeding or pumping. They don’t make me feel as restricted because I could always keep a few bottles pumped in the fridge in case I needed to get out of the house for a little bit and leave the baby with Ryan. These bottles are also great when you are trying to transition your baby from breastfeeding to bottle-feeding – which I did with both of mine using these exact bottles. Both babies loved them and didn’t have any trouble using them so we knew we were going to buy more for our third baby.
What I am Reusing:
Some clothes that I saved from Hampton – They will have very close birthdays which is great because I can use the same seasonal clothes. The only problem is that I didn’t save very many, but I’m using what I have.
Toys
Paci-clips
Books
Infant Carseat
Stroller
Swing
Baby Carrier/Wrap
High Chair
Baby Monitor
As you can see, we are reusing most of our big baby gear. We might have to splurge on a double stroller this time (which will probably happen very soon), and a larger SUV, but other than that, the bigger items are being reused.
Playtex Nurser Bottles with Drop-In liners are wonderful because they feel closer to breastfeeding for baby. They make it so easy to switch between breast and bottle feeding because of it’s Most Like Mom® NaturaLatch® Nipple that is wider and has a raised texture promoting a more natural latch. The liners are so easy to use. You just drop them in the bottle (matching the bottle size, 4oz. or 8oz.) and they collapse as your baby drinks the milk preventing air from getting in.This air-free feeding helps to reduce colic! Now that we have stocked up on a few essentials, bring on this third baby! His big brother and sister ar so ready to meet him…and his Mommy is, too!
Check out the latest Target Cartwheel offer to get 10% off Playtex baby bottles! This offer is running from 8/21 – 9/3!

I didn’t reuse bottles with my second either! Thank you for these tips, I’ll tuck them away for our ‘maybe baby 3’ if we ever decide! LOL hope you’re feeling well!

I use bottles that have replaceable nipples. It saved me tons of money.

I’m on my second but I absolutely agree that new sheets for each baby is a must.
