In just one short week, we go to orientation for Hampton’s preschool program. I can’t believe he is about to start school. He will only be going a couple of days a week, but he is so excited and I can’t help but think back on my school days. As a mom, my biggest concern is keeping him healthy. He will be exposed to more germs than he is used to and, because of that, he will expose my other babies. Here are a few key strategies I am using to keep my kids healthy during the busy back-to-school season.
How to Keep Kids Healthy During the School Year:
Pack healthy lunches
Cook Vegetables at dinner time
Give them a multi-vitamin
Provide healthy snacks (we love the energy-boosting citrus smoothie below)
Clean the house – especially kids rooms and toys – with disinfectant cleaners, often
Be proactive and head to Walmart to stock up on items such as Emergen-C and ChapStick that help the family feel better when illness hits at home.
Ingredients
- Half cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 Orange
- Half a Banana
- 4 Strawberries
- 1 pack of Emergen-C Orange
- Ice
Instructions
- Wash the fruit, cut it up and place all ingredients in a blender. Mix it well and serve.
I love this smoothie recipe. It is full of antioxidants and Vitamin C thanks to Emergen-C and other fresh ingredients! Adding this little packet makes a huge difference in boosting my energy and keeping my immune system strong. If you are making a smoothie for the kiddos, be sure to use Emergen-C Kidz! I love stocking up on Emergen-C during flu and cold season, as well as ChapStick for dry lips. I absolutely hate it when my lips get dry and like to keep some in my purse as well as in the house so that I am always prepared. ChapStick softens and protects lips every day with 11 moisturizing ingredients. SPF 12 provides UVB protection. Hydrating formula contains aloe and vitamin E.
Back-to-school means back-to-sports, homework, field trips, and everything that only a parent could understand. There are so many germs floating around this time of year. That’s why I love to keep Emergen-C on hand at all times. Emergen-C is packed with B vitamins, antioxidants†, electrolytes plus more vitamin C than 10 oranges^. With over 20 flavors, you have plenty of delicious varieties to choose from. Emerge and See. Emerge restored. Emerge replenished. Emerge Fortified.
Do your family a favor this school season and stock up on Emergen-C and ChapStick (Click to get your coupon)! What smoothie recipe would you create with all these great flavors?
