I have two toddlers in the house and things can be a little crazy and hectic sometimes. Especially when we are cooped up in the house for an extended period of time. I learned very quickly after my son was born that having a daily routine makes all the difference. Once my daughter was born, that routine became our lifestyle. My kids are not the same people when they have missed a nap or go to bed two hours later than their bedtime. So, we do everything we can to stick to our routine so that everyone is happy and healthy.
Our Toddler’s Daily Routine:
6:30 Wake up (although lately it has been closer to 4:30 thanks to the toddler bed transition)
7:00 Breakfast and Get dressed for the day
8:00 Play time
10:00 Sophie’s 1st nap
10:30 Clean-up
11:00 Lunch
11:30 Playtime outside/Play date/Park
1:30 Nap time for both kids
3:30 to 4:00 Snack Time
4:00 Playtime
5:30 Clean-up
6:00 Dinner
7:00 Bathtime/ Brush Teeth, Get ready for bed and drink milk/ Story time
8:00 Bedtime
It is really simple and works well for us. Once Sophie gives up her morning nap, we will be able to play outside a good bit more and go on earlier playdates! One of my favorite times of day is snack time because it is right after they wake up from their naps and they are always in a sweet mood. I love sitting down with them to create something special and hear all about their dreams and sing songs. It is a fun time. The other day Hampton and I made Strawberry Cheesecake Mini Pies for snack time and we had as much fun making them and we did eating them. This four ingredient snack is so simple and quick to make that it is perfect for a hungry toddler.
Strawberry Shortcake Mini Pie Recipe:
Dannon® Light & Fit Greek Strawberry Cheesecake
Keebler® Ready Crust® Mini Graham Cracker Pie Crusts
Fresh Strawberries
Reddi-wip®
I ran to Walmart to pick up the ingredients for our delicious snack and they were really easy to locate in the store! All you do is spoon the Dannon® Light & Fit Greek Strawberry Cheesecake into the Keebler® Ready Crust® Mini Graham Cracker Pie Crusts, top the pie with Reddi-wip® and fresh chopped strawberries making the perfect mini pie recipe! This is a great effortless snack to cool you down on a hot summer day and adding fresh fruit makes it a healthier treat! Bonus? They are super easy to clean up!

I am hoping I will be able to have a nice schedule like this when my second is born this summer. A schedule with one kid isn’t hard, but I dont know how I will do it with two.
Logan Cantrell says
You will do great! It is an adjustment, but you will get used to it in no time!

I don’t really have a routine for my son outside of things we do every week (library, therapy, playdates), but having just those thing we do consistently is nice. That recipe looks delicious and I officially want it to be our dessert at some point this week. 🙂
Logan Cantrell says
That is really great that you have things planned every week! It gives them something to look forward to! 🙂
