Can you guys believe it is a new year! Hello 2019! Last year, my word of the year was INTENTIONAL. In many ways, I felt like I definitely worked on this and succeeded in some areas. I tried to be really intentional with our time at home as a family especially when Ryan came home after being out of town. We really worked on our time together because quality time is my love language and it helped us grow in our relationship which was such a blessing. I am so thankful for the year we had…even the struggles, and trust me, there were some! We had several financial burdens that came out of nowhere last year, we had a lot of sickness and this pregnancy has had me very sick, so there have definitely been some hard days, but honestly, those are the days we learn to rally together, figure out a plan and grow closer together and to God in the process. Those are the moments we learn and we grow and I am thankful for them, too.
This new year, my word is for my entire family. Our word is BALANCE. With a new baby coming the end of March or first of April, we will have many challenges with the balance of our lives, but it is crucial that we get it down a little bit better this year. I need to work on balance in my relationships, family, work, our home, diet, pretty much every area of my life and that is why I chose this word. To me it signifies a positive and healthy goal and change for our family. It will help me focus on saying ”
no” to things we do not need to do and it will help me prioritize my family and home and also (hopefully) get a lot more organized and balanced in my work life. I let my organization go to pot the second half of last year and it showed in many ways. I have taken the break to clean out my house, my closet and my brain and I am so looking forward to moving forward with a clean slate and starting the year off more organized.
I shared my top five posts and top five purchases in this post on Monday! I can’t thank you enough for all of your continued support around here – even when I am the crazy disorganized mama. I appreciate you guys and your support and each one of you that stops by this space or makes a purchase through my links – YOU are why I do this and I appreciate you so much.
This new year we are looking forward to…
Our sweet baby BOY: Tucker William! He is due to arrive the first of April. He is currently breech, so we are praying that he turns and I would so appreciate your prayers as well! We can’t wait to meet baby brother! He will be well taken cared of and babied by his big sister, for sure! She is all about her babies. I will have a second trimester post up for you guys next week…technically I’m entering my third, but better late than never!
Hampton will start Kindergarten! I can’t even type that without tearing up. I can’t believe he will be going to big boy school, but we are thrilled for this adventure!
Sophie is looking forward to her first dance recitals! She is loving dance class and is so excited to dance on the big stage in May!
Weston will start MMO and I think he is definitely ready! He loves to color with his older siblings and loves going to take the kids to school.
Ryan is starting a new job! This is (in a lot of ways) an answered prayer but also bittersweet. He loved his other job, but is excited for this new step. We are being very prayerful about it and are so thankful that God gave him this amazing opportunity.
I am looking forward to all of these experiences with my babies and Ryan, but I am also excited to see what God has for this blog. This was a hobby and has turned into a business and that was 100% God and His plans. It was definitely not mine, but I am thankful every single day that I have a job that I love.
My prayers for this space is that…
God will guide me and my words…
He will provide…
He will teach me and help me grow…
He will allow me to help others and encourage them daily…
He will help me to bring someone closer to Him through this space…
At the end of the day, if I am not doing this last one, it is pointless.
Thank you for being here and I am looking forward to a wonderful new year and a life of BALANCE! I pray the same for you, friends!
Happy New Year!
