Hey mamas and friends, and HAPPY OCTOBER! If you are new around here, October is my absolute favorite month of the year! We celebrate our anniversary this month, my husband’s birthday, Hampton’s birthday and of course, Halloween – which I love (a very unpopular thing for a christian woman to say, but it’s true)! I do not participate in devil worshipping or anything super creepy or evil, but give me an excuse to dress up in a fun costume and get a few month’s worth of free candy and I will be there celebrating with the best of them. In honor of the first day of the best month, I thought I would kick us off with 10 things to do this October! Look at it as a challenge of fun. 😉
Dress (TTS – wearing small)// Booties (size up one full size)
Things to do this October:
Visit the Pumpkin Patch
Bake a Pumpkin or Apple Pie
Drink Apple Cider
Attend a Fall Festival
Find the perfect costume for Halloween (for your kids AND you)
Decorate Your  Front Porch
Buy a fall scented candle and burn it all month
Treat yourself to all the pumpkins and mums
Stick to your budget
Create one new healthy habit – mine is to walk or do the elliptical every day.
Do a fall craft with your littles
Go on a hayride
Plan a scary movie night-in with your man (or just watch Hocus Pocus like us)
Carve a pumpkin
Go trick-or-treating – with the kids, of course
Do something for yourself, daily – ideas: DIY face mask, paint your nails, soak in the tub, etc.
Read a new book (list coming soon!)
Plan a girl’s night
Go to a football game
Have a bonfire
Make S’mores
Go camping – or do like we are and just go hang out with your camping friends for the day. 😉
Get a jump-start on some Christmas shopping – or at least make your list. It’s never too early to start planning.
Go to the state fair
Make (or buy) a fall wreath
Go through a corn maze
Pick some sunflowers for the kitchen
Take a nature walk through the fallen leaves
Open your windows and “air out” your home
Clean out an area of your house
Start wearing all your scarves, boots and cardigans
I hope that this gave you a few ideas of things to do this October! Look at it as a challenge for the month! We will all be better off for taking better care of ourselves and adding a little extra fun into this month, don’t you think? It doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, Ryan and I are on a super strict budget this month because we are trying to save some money for some holiday surprises for the kids! Take care of yourself so that you can take care of the ones you love!
Happy Fall!!! xoxo
