After recently talking to my cousin and a couple of friends, I have realized how much of a struggle it is to find good, mom friendly swimsuits these days. So many swimsuits that popular retailers are making are not padded or offer little to no support. They are also very unflattering or cut funny and definitely not designed for a postpartum or “mom-bod”. Not that a “mom-bod” is a bad thing, but I think we can all agree that our bodies don’t ever really go back to how they were before. Not completely, anyway. They are forever changed – and for a good reason. You housed and nourished a human being for 9 months. That is no small feat.
Loving our bodies as mothers is something I personally have struggled with from time to time. I know a lot of my close friends have as well. It’s hard to “love” those extra 10 pounds or those stretch marks covering our hips. However, there is beauty in acceptance and love. The kindness movement is exploding so why should we not show a little kindness to ourselves? Give yourself grace and let’s find some mom friendly swimsuits for our rockin’ bods (that offer support, obvs).
After talking to a few different people recently, I am starting to think about support in a new way. You see, I’m not overly blessed up top, but have plenty of extra love on the backside if you know what I mean. So it was helpful to talk with others who made me rethink the swimsuits I was choosing for this post – f or those of you who are blessed on the top end, bottom end and both ends. 😉
Mom Friendly Swimsuits Under $100:
I also really love Kortni Jeane Swimsuits. Depending on the pieces you pick out, they can be over $100, but they are worth looking into if you are into the vintage high-waisted styles. I also don’t recommend them for really busty women as they offer only “medium support” I would say.
I hope this post was helpful in finding you a supportive swimsuit – no matter your body type, whether you are a new mom or a more seasoned mother. I truly feel there is something for everyone!
