Hey moms! I wanted to talk specifically to you today about a little thing called motivation. Since having Weston, I have really struggled to get motivated. Everyone told me that the third baby is the one that gets you – they were right! This third one has been a lot more difficult in many ways – not the baby, but my body, pregnancy and postpartum. The weight has not come of like it did with the other two, but I think a big reason for that is the simple fact that I have not worked out like I did the other two times. So, I want to encourage you while I try to encourage myself to get motivated and do something about it!
On Monday, I made the decision to get up and put on workout clothes. I had every intention on going downstairs and jumping on the elliptical, but #momlife happened and I never ended up working out. Many have advised me to wake up before the kids, but that is just not possible right now. Hampton keeps me up late, Weston wakes up throughout the night and Sophie wakes us up before the sun comes up, so we aren’t sleeping a whole lot. Waking up at 4a.m. to get in a quick workout just isn’t going to happen. So, I have to do it while they’re awake. I can do it because I’ve done it many times before. Free workout videos online and dance parties are our jam around here. It’s just finding the energy and motivation to do it. If I can do it, I KNOW you can do it, too! It just takes a little strong will and determination…and B12…and coffee.
I truly believe what the bible says about our bodies being a temple. They are holy and we should treat them as such. I like to ignore this concept when I want those chips ahoy cookies late at night or when I decide to order pizza because I’m too tired to cook. It’s okay to indulge and enjoy things on occasion, for sure. However, I personally need to get back on track.
One way I like to motivate myself is buying new workout clothes. I always look forward to wearing them (even days that I don’t workout, apparently) and it motivates me to get in there and do something! Below I am sharing some of my favorite athleisure picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that are still in stock! The leggings pictured above have already sold out in that color again (but are still available in black), so keep checking back for restocks! They have been happening daily!
What motivates you to take care of yourself?

If I were to have to honestly describe my style I would have to go with athleisure. Love the pink criss-cross back top! And also the vest at the bottom. I meant to buy a vest like that all last fall and winter and just never did. Maybe this year.
