Sophie’s birthday party turned out to be so much fun. I’ll be honest, we got off to a rocky start. We woke up Saturday morning and walked outside to find that it was chilly (in the 50’s) – definitely not pool party weather – so we moved the party to our house at the very last minute. It was so fun having our family over to our new house! Some of our grandparents had not seen our home yet, so we enjoyed giving them a tour. The kids had so much fun playing outside with their cousins and it turned out to be a perfect day for bubbles – which is basically what we did most of the afternoon once her party was over.
We threw Sophie a unicorn birthday party because…why not? Everyone loves unicorns, and I happened to find the cutest party decor at Target. Oh, Target. So really, it was a no-brainer! My sister came to town from Auburn and we were so excited that she made an appearance! We have not seen much of her this semester and it was exciting to catch up with her and some of my other family members I don’t see very often.
Our sweet Sophie is two. I feel like if I say it enough maybe it will sink in, but it hasn’t yet. My life has quite honestly been a blur since she was born. I’ve been running on little sleep and lots of coffee and I am just praying I remember everything about this phase of my babies lives. I hope I remember her beautiful curls, her wrinkled-nose smile when she is being a stinker, and her sweet and sassy personality. I hope I remember the way she says “hilarious” (it is pretty hilarious), how much she loves babies, and how she loves to snuggle. Even though she is two, she loves to be held and rocked. She loves to sing and hop like a bunny and she absolutely adores her big brother!
Thank you to our family for making her day so special!
