This weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary! SIXTY years, y’all. It’s kind of a big deal. Especially this day in time. They wanted the entire family to celebrate with them, so me and all 30-something cousins loaded up and traveled to Callaway Gardens in Georgia for the weekend.
Unfortunately, all three of my kids got a stomach virus and started throwing up in the hotel on Saturday night, so we had to end our trip a little sooner than planned, but I still got to spend time with family, so I’m counting it as a win.
Friday, we met my family for a big picnic and the kids ran around and played soccer and football while the adults got caught up on life’s goings-on. The kids got to play with their cousins and third cousins which was so fun. There are 16…and a half (that will be born any day now) so there are a ton of kids every where, but it was so much fun!
On Saturday, before the plague hit us, we left Callaway Gardens to tour F.D.R.’s little white house and then took the kids to the Butterfly exhibit. They absolutely loved it. They were chasing butterflies everywhere. If you follow me on Instagram, I shared a video of it on my stories. It was so much fun seeing m babies experience such a special place from my childhood.
I also got to spend some much-needed time with my sister which was great and we ate lunch with my brother and his new wife! It was great getting to catch up with everyone. We have gotten so big that it is tough to keep up with everyone.
Looking at this photo now, I can see it all over their faces. They weren’t feeling well at all.
Today, I will be busy sterilizing our house and trying to get these kiddos better while praying Ryan and I don’t catch it. We escaped it last time and I’m praying we can again.
What did you do this weekend?
