How We Sneak Vegetables Into Our Kid’s Diet with Garden Lites

March 29, 2017

Lately, our older two kids have been so picky when it comes to food. They used to eat their vegetables so easily and now it’s like pulling teeth to get them to take one bite. Recently, I pulled one over on them. I have gotten away with feeding them vegetables without them ever knowing! Here is how I sneak vegetables into our kid’s diets: Feed them Garden Lites muffins!

How We Sneak Vegetables Into Our Kid's Diet with Garden Lites

Recently, we picked up a few of these in our local Publix store so we could give them a try. To my surprise, the kids actually ate them and love them! I love to eat these as a snack sometimes when I am needing a little pick me up in the afternoon or a quick breakfast on the go. They are the best because they also have hidden vegetables in them. Thirty-three percent of these little muffins and cakes are vegetables! The first ingredients in the chocolate muffins (my favorite) are zucchini and carrots!

Now that I have implemented these into our every day routine, I feel so much better about the kid’s nutrition! Of course, I still make vegetables every day in hopes that they will one day eat them and even enjoy them but what they don’t know is they are already eating their vegetables!

Any snack that sneaks vegetables into my (and my kid’s) diet without sacrificing taste is a huge deal to me! The chocolate muffins are so moist and delicious! I was honestly surprised that they were so good. I didn’t know what to expect the first time I tasted it, but now I eat them when I need something to satisfy my sweet tooth. The funniest thing to me has been the fact that Hampton has asked me for his “muffins” every morning for breakfast! Vegetables, I mean muffins for breakfast? Sure, son. Have at it!

Why try Garden Lites? Well they vegetable rich, with vegetables being the first ingredient in all the products. A few other reasons? They are a more convenient way to eat more vegetables, they are made with clean and simple ingredients and are gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free! Pretty amazing little snack, no?

I found my Garden Lites Muffins at Publix! You can find yours in the freezer section of your nearest Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Shop-Rite, HEB, Kroger or Costco. They are definitely worth the try – especially if you are trying to feed a picky child.

Wow! I’ve never noticed these! What a great idea! I’m always trying to find a way to get the kids to eat more veggies. At 3 and 5 it’s a challenge!
