I realized over Thanksgiving that things have been so crazy and I haven’t even mentioned we are completely in our new home! We have absolutely loved it so far! We have great neighbors who have kids a few years older than Hamp and Sophie, but a couple of houses down, there are kids their age. All of the kids play great outside together and my kids have loved being right next to our neighborhood playground. It is so convenient and has been really wonderful. We are still unpacking and honestly, probably will be for a while, but the downstairs is pretty much put together now and we are so looking forward to hosting people in our house again! That is probably the thing we have missed most over this last year.

Our kids have adjusted pretty well, all things considered. New baby + new home in a week and a half is a lot to take in for a little kid. Shoot, it was a lot for me to take in, so I can’t imagine a 3 and 18 month old. Bless them. They have acted out a little bit, but I was completely expecting it. I think for the most part, they have done really well. They love Weston and have been great with him and they love having their own rooms again and a playroom!
We have been so blessed and are so thankful to everyone for putting up with us this past year. We were hit with a lot of craziness and it was a lot to take in all at once. It has not been easy, but it has been so worth it to get to where we are now. Our little surprise – Weston – has been such a blessing and now we can’t imagine our life without him. Our new home was well worth the wait and we are so grateful to my parents for letting us live with them this past year. It was easy and felt totally normal for me to be back there, but I am sure going from being empty nesters to a house full of kids and a hormonal pregnant daughter was not the easiest thing in the world. They have been wonderful and have handled everything with such grace and have been so patient and generous in opening their home to us for so long.
I am also happy to report that my kids are no longer barefoot. I kid, but they were pretty close. Poor Sophie even got blisters on her feet because her shoes were so small on her. Both of my kids went through major growth spurts and all of a sudden nothing fit them. My friends at Livie and Luca sent them these adorable shoes and they love them! They are so perfect for playing in but are also nice enough to wear to church. They go with everything and I love the styles so much! My kids love them, too and are especially thankful to have shoes that fit them again! I also backed up on Black Friday for them. Who can resist GAP at 50% off? Definitely not me!
