It’s really hard to believe that I am closer to the third trimester with my third baby. Some days, I still feel like I am getting over the shock of being pregnant again, and others I find myself dreaming of our little guys face and wishing time would speed up so I can finally meet him and yes, not be pregnant anymore. While I loved being pregnant my first and second time around, this one has been very different and a lot harder on my body. #3in3years Probably has something to do with that. ;/… So, now that I’m feeling like I’m a seasoned pro, here are some of my must haves for the second trimester!
Snoogle Pregnancy Pillow – I literally don’t know what I would do without this. It keeps me comfortable when I’m sitting in bed typing (like now), sleeping, etc. It. is. everything.
Maternity leggings – These have been life savers during and after pregnancy for all 3 of mine. They are so comfortable and comfort is everything. They also give you a little extra support and make everything look a bit more shapely if you know what I mean.
Coconut Oil – I lather myself in this stuff all day errrday! It kept me from having any new stretch marks with Sophie, and so far, so good this time around, too! If I start to feel dry or itchy, I run put some of this on and it gives instant relief. Love it!
Belly Band – this is awesome and only $20! Yes, please! A must when I’m working out or walking a lot.
Supportive Nursing Bra – It’s never too early to start wearing your nursing bra, right? This one is so much more comfortable than a regular bra. I am finding myself in these or a sports bra more and more often right now.
A Good Workout Routine – Mine is simple. I walk on the treadmill every day and do my TIU workouts. Sometimes we go on additional walks at night as a family, but for the most part, that has been enough of a workout for me. It wears me out, but makes me feel so good. It’s nice to know it will help prevent excess weight gain and get in shape quicker, post-pregnancy. It also just makes me feel good and a little like myself.
Sleep – I know it is silly to include this, but it’s true that you should sleep as much as possible now because the newborn probably won’t be too keen on it at first. I haven’t been getting as much sleep as I would like (thanks to a 2 1/2 year old regression) but we are working to fix that. 😉
Tums – I had heartburn with Hamp that hit me towards the end of my second trimester and I am starting to have it again with this baby boy. It hasn’t been too bad – yet – but I know it is coming.
Sunscreen – This is my favorite because I love Neutrogena products. My skin has been so sensitive this summer, so I have been keeping the sunscreen on. The last thing I want is to be pregnant and sunburnt.
Also, if you’re pregnant during the summer months, I recommend lots of loose fitting tanks water and air conditioning! There is always next year to work on that tan, girl!
