I can’t be the only one already dreaming of the weekend, can I? After a crazy week and weekend last week, I am so ready to relax by the pool this Saturday and enjoy a good book.
I am beyond excited to go to the 3rd annual Slice Fest in Birmingham, Alabama! Are any of my Alabama ladies planning on being there? I’m a sucker for food and music festivals. I mean, what’s better than pizza and great live music? After a crazy work week, I’m definitely looking forward to letting my hair loose and having fun with family and friends!
Of course, I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear – because I’m a girl. After too much time spent on Pinterest, I think I’ve finally figured it out. Here is my take on Festival Fashion:

Be on the lookout for my post on #SliceFest2014 on Alabamawomenbloggers.com later next week!
Are you attending any music festivals this summer? Will you be at Slice Fest?

Can you believe we are only a couple of weeks away from the first day of Summer? I can. We have already experienced some pretty hot temperatures down here. Because it’s felt like summer here for a month, I’ve been shopping with the warm season in mind. I’m obsessed with these nail colours for summer! Obviously I’m in love with lime-green, but come on, these are beautiful colours. I’m currently wearing Vices Versa by Essie and it’s so bright and cheerful. I thought “I’m Addicted by Essie would be perfect for all summer beach vacations and Down to the Core-Al by OPI would be great for date nights! Aren’t you loving these new OPI nail colors?
Do you see any colors that you can’t live without? What color are you currently wearing?
Sisters are the best. Especially my sister. She is almost 7 years younger than me, but we have always been so close. When she moved away to college, it was tough because I went from seeing her about every other day to maybe once or twice a month. She is only 45 minutes down the road, but it just isn’t like it used to be. Perks of growing up, I guess.
Over the weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with her. We laughed a lot, played dominoes, laid by the pool, did a lot of talking and she modeled for me! She bought this outfit on our shopping trip and so obviously I had to take pictures of her in it. She is beautiful and has a unique style. She is the type of girl who doesn’t care what anyone things about her. She will wear, say, do whatever she thinks is right for her. I so admire that quality and am trying to be more like that myself. If she wants to wear a hat, she will. No matter how people look at her or what people say about it.
I had a lot of fun photographing Alex. She has a smile that is contagious. Not to mention that maxi! I’m in love!
Do you have a sister? Are you loving maxis this season?
Happy hump day, friends! I’m chillin’ out in Orlando with Ryan. I tagged along so that I could get away for a couple of days while he attends conferences. My mom is keeping Hampton for the first time for a couple of nights and I am missing him so much. It’s nice to have a break and rest, but not having my little munchkin around is tough. I have been able to lay by the pool, catch up on my favorite blogs and read. A lot. It has been so awesome.
Since I’ve been away, this has basically been my wardrobe. Lately, I’ve found this to be my go-to weekend look as well. Simple with a little pop of color. I know I know…already dreaming of the weekend. I can’t help it. I am obsessing over these accessories from Charming Charlie.
What are some of your wardrobe staples? What do you wear on a casual weekend?
The past few days have been so crazy around here. Set aside working while taking care of your six month old, but when your home internet goes out for four days (and counting), and Starbucks quickly becomes your office space/day care (sorry, SB) things can get pretty interesting real fast. Needless to say, things have been pretty stressful because our whole routine has been flipped upside down.
Good news? It is May! Can you believe it? May is full of graduations, celebrations, weddings, showers, parties, etc. all of which we are attending this month. It is always a fun and busy month for us. I can’t wait to celebrate my brother and nephew’s birthdays in a week and attend a wedding this weekend. So much fun to be had. We will be welcoming the summer before you know it, however, if you live down south like me, you’re probably already experiencing it and are laying by the pool as we speak (I wish).
Adding a little color to your wardrobe is a must this time of year. No more dreary winter colors. Headbands are also a huge addition to this year’s wardrobe. I’m loving this flower headband from The Colt and Filly! Kacie makes the most adorable headbands and earring for you and your LO! The anchor earrings are a perfect addition to any summer outfit. My sister is already trying to steal them from me.
What are your favorite summer accessories? Are you attending any weddings this season?
