Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone ha a great time at the Justin Timberlake concert, I mean, Super Bowl, last night! We enjoyed getting together with some of our friends and it was a great time! I thought it would be fun to share some of my recent outfits from January. I didn’t do a whole lot of buying because I was trying to save some money (remember my New years goals?) and am proud to say I did great! However, I did make a couple of purchases on February 2nd. We can’t be good all the time. So, I can’t wait to show you some of the newbies once they come in! Be sure to follow along on Instagram because I like to share a lot of fashion stuff and sales in my stories!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits from January:

I have not done an old school OOTD (outfit of the day) post in a while, so I thought I would do one today because, why not? I love sharing my outfits and figure I might bring back the old fashioned #ootd posts. What do you think? There are some great weekend sales going on as well and I will share my favorites at the bottom of the post if you are interested in doing a little shopping for yourself or for Christmas gifts. No judgement here!

Recent Outfits:

This first outfit is one that I wore yesterday! I am in love with this sweater (on sale) and the jacket is a must! It is amazing quality (suede) and so gorgeous (also on sale)! I wore it to run errands and take the kids to school. It was perfect for the cooler weather!

It’s no secret around here that I have a slight obsession with boots. Furry boots, ankle boots, knee boots, rain boots – I love them all! They are my weakness. A beautiful weakness. For Christmas, I splurged and bought a pair of Sorel boots and they have exceeded all of my expectations. They are comfortable and waterproof which is great. They are also great for all of the snow we get here in Alabama (I kid). But if I do ever take that ski trip I’ve been thinking about, they will be the first thing I pack.

Y’all. I just woke up and my newborn is almost 6 months and my 18 month old is turning two this weekend. T W O. What in the world? Surely I blacked out for a few months? How has the time flown by that fast? Hampton’s first year flew by, but his second? It has been even faster. My baby girl is on the verge of crawling and my tiny Hamp is turning two. He is now longer my baby. He is a toddler on his way to big boy land. I wish it would all slow down. I wish the days would seem like actual full days instead of an hour or two divided by a nap. I feel like I’m being robbed of their baby years, yet, I’m right here! I’m right by their side 24/7.

The older I get, the more I realize what truly matters in life. Family matters. Our little family of four is my world. I spend most of my time with them – really all of my time with the babies, yet it still doesn’t feel like enough. H is starting to “read” aka memorize his books. He is counting to 10, he is learning his ABC’s, putting sentences together and knows most of his colors. Didn’t he just start saying “mama” and “da da?” My mind is blown by this. Don’t even get me started on SR holding her own bottle and rolling all over the place to get to where she wants to be. She has even scooted a little bit. I’m not sure if it’s on purpose or by accident, but she will definitely be crawling soon. There is no doubt about that. This girl is going places.

Last week was all about Ryan and his big 3-0 birthday. This week is all about my baby boy! We are celebrating his birthday by going to the pumpkin patch and spending some quality family time together – just the 4 of us. I am so excited. I don’t even remember the last time we did this. Spending time together outside of bedtime routines, does not happen very often. It will be a blessing for sure.

Happy (early) Birthday to my precious little pumpkin baby. You will always be mommy’s greatest answered prayer! I love you, always!

The last couple of days, we have experienced cooler weather! I have so enjoyed it and it has made running outside not only bearable but even enjoyable again. Also, Auburn and Florida won this weekend…barely. Thank goodness for that. Last weekend was so busy but fun. I participated in the local consignment sales this weekend and actually made more than I spent which is amazing. I bought the kids some great clothes for the fall and winter and spent very little money. It was really awesome.

Because the weather has been so nice, I have finally been able to wear some of my favorite new fall clothes. A few of my favorites are:

top-knot

The striped top. I know this is labeled as a dress, but because of the extremely high slit in it, I would never wear it as a dress. I know you don’t want to see my panties. I bought mine a size up so that I could wear mine with leggings and it cover my butt (because I cover) and because comfort is key! #SAHM, but I could have probably stuck with my normal size because it is a loose fitting “dress.” I am so glad that the stripes trend is being carried over to fall. It is such a classy look that I’m not entirely sure it ever goes out of style, so stripes are a safe purchase in my opinion and not as much a trendy thing.

Fringe. I love these fringe booties that I scored from H&M at 30% off a few weeks ago! They are so comfortable and fun.

Layered jewelry. You don’t have to keep the layering to clothes. I love layering jewelry (when I remember to put it on). I love to layer my necklaces, bonus points when the necklace is already layered like this one from my Rocksbox! Speaking of, you can get your first month free using code: ‘Loganbff19.’

I’ve also got my eye on this plaid Madewell dress! Ooo la la! You know how I love my plaid!

Our cooler weather didn’t last very long. It is back up in the 90’s and I’m back to rompin’ around in my jean vest. Oy Vey. So, last week in our small group, we went around the circle and told what are peaks and pits of the week were. I thought it would be fun to do the same this week because it has been filled with lots of ups and downs.

Pits:

Our house has been on the market for a year and a half now. We have lowered the price several times and continue to update it. It has been a really frustrating process. A couple of weeks ago we noticed a spot on Hampton’s baseboard in his room that looked like the wood had been warped. We had someone come out and look at it on Monday and, we have termites. Wonderful. While you may be thinking, “oh, it’s fine because I’m sure you have a bond”…no. We don’t. Or, we didn’t. Our bond expired a couple of months back and we had not renewed it. I’m not even going to tell you what our bill is costing us. Just know, our bank account is crying harder than that guy who loves Britney.

Sophie’s “acid reflux” has been awful. She isn’t gaining hardly any weight and it is really upsetting me. I feel like she is throwing everything up that she eats and then some. She should be growing and getting chunky, but instead she looks skinnier to me. We are going to the doctor later today for her 4 month check-up and I’m hoping she can give me new advice that will help. I’ve been so desperate that I even tried to give her formula but she still screamed the entire time I tried to give it to her. Any advice, moms?

Peaks:

While the termite thing was awful and hurt our bank account a little bit, we are so thankful that we caught it pretty early and have everything fixed now. It could have been a lot worse if we had waited or not noticed it.

Hampton has had a really good week. His behavior has been so much better and he has been so sweet with SR. I started decorating for fall/Halloween this week and he has loved seeing all of the “punkin’s” all over the house! He is definitely my little pumpkin baby! I hope he loves Halloween as much as I do!

Monday night we celebrated Ryan’s great-grandmother’s 92nd birthday! She told me she is now shooting for 100! I bet if anyone can make it to 100, it’s her! She is so precious and uplifting to be around. I love listening to her stories and being around her is such a calming influence. She has the kindest spirit.

My sister is coming home this weekend and I can’t wait to see her! Her and my mom offered to keep my kids so that Ryan and I can go out on a date! I am so excited! We have been out on one date since SR was born and that was over 2 months ago! With all of the traveling he has been doing, I am definitely ready to have a date with my hubby!

P.S. One of my best friends started a blog and launched it yesterday! Check her out over at Stroll Through the South! You will love her!

What was your pit and peak of the week?

My main job is a Stay at Home Mom. Sure, I work part time and blog pretty much full time, but to me, my most important job of all is being a mother and being present for my babies. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with them, but with that comes limited time for yourself and therefore endless top knots and sweatpants. Mamas, you know what I’m talking about.

tunic

Most days it is difficult to find time to brush my hair and teeth, let alone get dressed for the day. I have not felt great about myself since having SR. Obviously my body is all out of shape and I still have 14 lbs. to lose before I hit my pre-pregnancy weight, but I feel so much better on the days that I make myself get dressed. Even if that means I have an unhappy toddler for 5 minutes and a screaming baby that I have to lay down to get said clothes on. It makes me feel a million times better.

stylish

This adorable tunic dress is so perfect for me because it slips right on and I’m ready to go. Quick and easy! I love the embroidery trend and I love that detail along with the lace on this dress. It is easy, breezy and perfect for summer!

Posh Boutique is an adorable online boutique that sells luxury clothing, jewelry , and even home decor for a great price. I love the quality of their items that they guarantee, but also the fact that they have great sales periodically where you can grab your favorite items for market price!

Memorial Day Outfit Inspiration

I love dressing patriotic. I’m proud of our country and very proud to be an american. I have always loved red. Why? Because growing up, my dance company and competition team wore red and black. I learned at a young age that red is the most intimidating color. We wore red costumes most of the time because my dance teacher was awesome. haha It is a very strong and bold color, so it’s fitting that it’s in our American Flag.

What I love more than dressing patriotic is dressing my kids up in red, white and blue! They make the cutest patriotic outfits for kids! I have loved going out and seeing all of our flag colors in all of our favorite shops. Here are some of my Memorial Day outfit picks for the whole family:

Spring is in the air! We have had some pretty crazy weather around these parts the last couple of weeks. Tons of rain with extremely hot weather one day and extremely cold the next. The weather can’t make up it’s mind, which means only one thing. It’s almost springtime! I love this time of year and it seems like it doesn’t get as much hype as the other seasons. When you’re up against Christmas, Halloween and lazy pool days, it can be hard to compete, but I love spring. All of the fresh blooms and the celebration of Christ’s resurrection is enough to get me excited. Plus, the warmer weather is definitely something to celebrate.

I’ve  been dying to bring out my florals again and it is finally time! I love this dress from Pink Blush so much. It is a fun print and very appropriate for this time of year. The length is perfect for a pregnant woman, but it is a dress I can wear after baby as well. I love it so much that I’m pretty sure I’m going to make it my designated Easter dress!

The past few days have been so crazy around here. Set aside working while taking care of your six month old, but when your home internet goes out for four days (and counting), and Starbucks quickly becomes your office space/day care (sorry, SB) things can get pretty interesting real fast. Needless to say, things have been pretty stressful because our whole routine has been flipped upside down.

Good news? It is May! Can you believe it? May is full of graduations, celebrations, weddings, showers, parties, etc. all of which we are attending this month. It is always a fun and busy month for us. I can’t wait to celebrate my brother and nephew’s birthdays in a week and attend a wedding this weekend. So much fun to be had. We will be welcoming the summer before you know it, however, if you live down south like me, you’re probably already experiencing it and are laying by the pool as we speak (I wish).

Adding a little color to your wardrobe is a must this time of year. No more dreary winter colors. Headbands are also a huge addition to this year’s wardrobe. I’m loving this flower headband from The Colt and Filly! Kacie makes the most adorable headbands and earring for you and your LO! The anchor earrings are a perfect addition to any summer outfit. My sister is already trying to steal them from me.

Be sure to check out The Colt and Filly on Twitter and Instagram for updates on their merchandise.
