Convenience

I have very sensitive teeth and have always had to use sensitive toothpastes to find some relief. The tiniest bite of ice cream can send me in a fit. I decided to venture out and try the Colgate sensitivity toothbrush and pen to see if it helps. I have a huge sweet tooth and my pregnancy cravings aren’t helping my addiction love for sweets.

Colgate

Thanks to my experience with this product, I have been able to actually enjoy my cold treats lately. In fact, I made my favorite popsicle recipe the other day while Hampton had a double ear infection. He was pretty miserable and I wanted to make him a special treat. Luckily, this popsicle is not too bad for you, so I felt okay about giving him a few tastes. I’m excited to share this very simple popsicle recipe with you!

Relief

You should definitely try these. They just taste like summertime to me. Thanks to Colgate’s Sensitive Toothbrush and Pen, I can still enjoy my favorite summer treat, pain-free. This pregnant woman is very happy about that!

Sensitivity

The Colgate Sensitivity Pen is so easy to use. The Actis Enamel Pen blocks sensitivity at the source of pain. Simply: Brush, Apply, Go. That easy! If you continually use the Colgate sensitive toothbrush, over time, the formula builds a barrier so that your teeth are less sensitive. If you have struggled with sensitivity, you know how awesome this is!

Do you struggle with sensitive teeth? What is your favorite summertime sweet?

Transitioning from winter to spring can be so tricky. The weather seems to be so back and forth for a couple of months until the temperature decides to make up it’s mind and stay warm. Until then, you need these pieces to get you through the uncertainty that is weather.

Spring Scarf – Adding a light weight springy scarf really adds a lot to a wardrobe. Bonus: it keeps you warm when it is cooler outside. I love this one and this one
spring-blazer

Blazer – Throw on a cute blazer with a graphic tee or tank to dress it up! That way, you won’t freeze if it is a cooler day, but can easily take it off if it warms up. Loving this one, this one and this one.

maxi-skirt

Maxi Skirt this one has been on my wish list for a very very long time. I’m. In. Love.
Spring Jacket – Honestly, when it comes to jackets, The Loft just gets it right every time. I love their entire spring jacket collection
coral-sweater

Light Sweater – I like this oversized sweater and this one in coral.

chambray

Chambray Shirt – I love layering my Chambray top from Old Navy. I wear it all the time (even pregnant). It is a great piece for spring and fall.

Sunglasses – Every woman needs a pair of sunglasses, especially this time of year. That bright sun is coming out to play and it’s really important to keep your eyes protected. Not to mention, they’re cute. 🙂

What are some of your go-to transitional pieces?
mother-and-sons

I’m going to be very open and honest with you. I am so nervous about having a second child. As I’ve gotten bigger during this pregnancy, life has become a lot harder with Hampton. He doesn’t understand “mommy is hurting right now” or “mommy doesn’t feel good.” All he sees is a big round stomach he can bounce off of. My family is probably sitting here reading this and laughing hysterically because I actually want four children (as long as we are able and it is in God’s plan, of course). So why am I so nervous about baby #2?

 1. First off, SR was a bit of a surprise for us. We had originally planned to wait until around…now to start trying for baby #2 so that Hampton would be 2 years old. HA once again, God said, “Logan, you are not in control, I am.” I am so thankful for this sweet baby girl and I know once she is here, I woould’t have wanted to change a thing, because that’s how God works. His timing is perfect, always. Alas, I am an extreme planner and a little OCD when things don’t go according to plan, so this has been a big learning lesson for me.

2. How will I have time for BOTH of my children? So many people do this. I don’t know why I am even worried about time management with two kids, but I guess it’s because I haven’t done it yet. I know I will figure it out and I’m hoping my mommy instincts will kick in again and I will know exactly how to handle it. I am, after all their mother.

baby-boy

3. I’m scared that Hampton will take it really hard. He is my baby, y’all. He is only 17 months old. He is still very baby-like most of the time. He loves to be held and has been very clingy to me lately. He is always right up under me. I’m scared he will have a hard time adjusting to not being the only “baby” around here.

4. When will I sleep again? We just started sleeping through the night (consistently) about 5 months ago. We have been in a really good routine, and now we are about to start the newborn phase all over again. Back to square one we go! Yikes! And this time? with an 18 month old.

5. I’m terrified of giving birth. My friends and family who know me really well, know that I have extreme anxiety over all things needles. I’ve always hated going to the doctor and let’s just say, giving birth was a little traumatic for me. I did really well, but I was terrified. Now that I know what’s coming, I’m even more nervous about it.

Okay, so now that my mom is laughing and saying “And you want FOUR?” I will reiterate: I know I can do this. I know that God does not give us more than we can handle. I know that His plan is bigger and better than mine and I know that I will laugh at myself later on and think “why did I freak out?” Well, I freaked out over Hampton, too. It was something new that I hadn’t experienced before. This is new and it will be for a while, but I will figure it out and everything will turn out great.

What tips do you have for a mom going from 1 to 2 kids?

easter-2015

Easter is such a happy day. The weather was beautiful, our church service was wonderful, the food was outstanding, and as usual, my mom and mother-in-law really outdid themselves. Because we live near both of our families, we always get double the holiday fun. It can be hectic, but it is so much fun and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We enjoyed two fabulous meals, two egg hunts and lots of pictures. I tried to pick and choose just a few to share with you so you don’t have a Hampton overload, although he was pretty cute! 🙂

He was most excited about that Camelbak cup, y’all! It was so funny. I had to fill it up with water immediately and he toted it around with him all day.

How was your Easter? Did you do anything Special?

36-weeks-pregnant

How Far Along: 36 weeks! Less than one month to go!

Size of Baby: Babycenter says 6 lbs. and 18 1/2 in. I have a hard time believing she is already that big.

Gender: Our baby girl! SRC!

Weight Gain: I hit 25 lbs last week. It’s kind of got me a bit down, because I really wanted to stay between 25-30lbs, and I’m just not sure that’s going to happen. I’m not giving up just yet. 😉

Movement: Her movement is getting harder by the day. It definitely feels more like my ribs are being punched rather than tapped at this point. She move all the time but especially at night.

Sleep: I’ll be honest, I’m not hardly sleeping. Maybe my body is preparing for no sleep? I’m not sure, but I have been having a very hard time getting comfortable and she moves most at night.

Workouts: This week, I have walked 2 miles a day and completed my TIU workouts as best I can. Of course, I can’t do any of the exercises that require I lay on my back, but I’ve done everything else.

Maternity Clothes: I’ve still been mixing and matching maternity and non-maternity. I’m definitely in maternity jeans only and very thankful for them, but I am still wearing my regular nike shorts and yoga pants most days.

Symptoms: I’ve still been having some Braxton Hicks contractions and I have felt a lot of pressure. I’m sure it is just the baby moving down. I have definitely dropped a lot. Pregnancy is so weird…and cool. haha

Cravings/Aversions: I haven’t had many cravings the last couple of weeks. I feel so big and crowded at this point that eating is more of a chore than a want thing right now.

Missing Most: Sleep. I’ve been really struggling with that this week.

Nursery: It is finally finished minus the mattress. I’m not obsessing over it right now because I know she will sleep in our room for a little while any way.

She will be here before we know it! I can’t believe how fast it is going by this time. Maybe I should buy some diapers… and pack something?

Springtime is officially here and in full swing! The weather has been so beautiful and WARM (finally!!!) this week! Warm weather makes me want to do two things: swim and go on a picnic! Hampton and I went on a picnic last week and had so much fun, but this time we included Ryan! We had the perfect afternoon snack-time picnic yesterday, and really enjoyed being together. Of course, savings at Publix (more on these savings later) and Klondike Ice Cream Bars added to that enjoyment! Ryan actually got me hooked on these after I met him. What a bad influence he is! haha They are definitely one of my guilty pleasures.

Hamp loved his ice cream sandwich! Of course, we only gave him a couple of bites, but look at that face! He was one happy baby!

First off, Happy April Fools day! Do you play pranks and jokes on people for April fools? I’ve never really gotten into it like a lot of people do. I’m not really sure why…

Have you seen the new Cinderella movie? If not, you definitely should. Like, now. It is the cutest movie I’ve seen in a long time! Cinderella was one of my favorite childhood movies, so going to see this one made me feel like a little girl again.

While I was perusing Khols the other day, I discovered that Lauren Conrad has a Cinderella collection. No, I am not kidding! I am so in love with this dress. How pretty is it? It is perfect for all of these upcoming spring and summer weddings as well as church. I’ve always loved LC and her line at Khols, but now I love her even more!

What was your favorite movie as a child?

Easter Treats

There are so many stages of pregnancy. First you’re sick and don’t want to eat anything, then you’re craving everything in site, and then you are sick and so big and full with baby that you don’t want to eat very much again. While I am definitely in the later stage, I do still have an occasional craving for something sweet. So, why not these delicious Easter treats?

pudding-snack-ideas

During my second trimester, I was still able to run a little bit and I allowed myself a few splurges here and there. One thing I figured out was that if I ate one bite of ice cream to get that craving fix, I found myself always wanting more. I decided to try Kozy Shack Simply Well Pudding because it is actually  rice pudding in disguise. My mind and taste buds think I’m eating that sugary goodness of pudding, but my body isn’t getting an overload of sugar and is getting a much healthier alternative. Did I mention these are only 90 calories and gluten free? I can’t get over it! That’s less calories than the yogurt I usually eat. But it’s pudding. Mind blown.

Cozy Shack Simply Well

Yesterday, I decided to spice up mine and Hampton’s snack time by adding a few things into our pudding to make it fun and festive for Easter! Needless to say, Hampton loved it! He giggled and thought I was crazy for letting him eat this for his snack. What he doesn’t know if that I’m totally okay with this snack for him. I try to feed him healthy foods only (of course we splurge every now and then) and this snack did not compromise his healthy diet.

Easter Treat

The additives aren’t the most healthy of choices, but with Easter coming up this weekend, I thought it was okay to give Hampton a fun treat.

Usually, we have crazy weather during the spring months. There is no such thing as “nice” “cool” or “warm” weather in Alabama. It is either extremely hot and humid or extremely cold. For the last couple of weeks, the weather has been back and forth per usual, but the last couple of days we have been able to enjoy much needed sunny days. There is something about the sun coming out after a few rainy days that makes you feel so energized and happy. I am loving the warmth on my skin and being able to play outside with Hampton without freezing.

With all of these sunny days ahead, I desperately needed a new pair of sunglasses. I wanted a good quality pair of designer sunglasses that were affordable. Sounds crazy, yes? But, Sunglasses Shop offers great designer sunglasses from Versace to Ray-Bans for great prices!

I am loving my new sunnies and you can count on seeing them around these parts for the rest of the year. They are the perfect fit and style that I was looking for. Plus, how can you go wrong with Ralph Lauren? A good pair of sunglasses is a must for everyone. It is definitely a staple item in my collection of accessories.
