Tips for a Stress Free Morning for Moms is sponsored by The Hillshire Brands Company!
I don’t know about you, but mornings can get super stressful – especially if you’re a mom. Being responsible for yourself and (in my case) three little ones can seem daunting. Preparing 5 breakfasts, packing lunches, getting everyone dressed and out the door on time can be tough. Here are some of the things I do to have a stress free morning!
Tips for a Stress Free Morning:
Set out all of our clothes the night before.
Prepare lunches the night before.
Gather all papers, payments, folders, etc. the night before and set them neatly on the counter by the door. – It’s so nice not having to remember these things in the morning and feel confident you already have everything you need.
Shower at night. – This saves so much time in the mornings!
Go to bed earlier and wake up early – This is easier said than done. We still have many mornings where my kids wake up long before the sun. Getting up before them would mean that I would not get a healthy amount of sleep, so if your children sleep in a bit (lucky) then try to get up a few minutes before them.
Keep breakfast simple. – Over the last couple of weeks, we have tried the new Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® breakfast cups that are available at Walmart right next to the bacon in the refrigerated section. The Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles Bacon variety is my favorite! It has 23g of protein and is made with two real eggs, cheese and bacon that is so quick and easy to take on-the-go which is a must on mornings when we are pressed for time. I love that these easy breakfast options are available at Walmart because we love to use the convenient grocery store pick-up option! I am all about not having to take all of the kids grocery shopping with me.
Encourage the older kids to dress themselves/put their shoes on by themselves. – My oldest two love to be independent when they can. Letting them get themselves dressed is a time-saver for you and it promotes healthy independence for them!
Start trying to get out the door 5 minutes earlier than you actually need to leave. – By the time you get everyone buckled in, you may look at the clock and see that you are actually on time instead of behind. Doing this really helps us stay on time.
Store extras in the car. – I need to buy a car caddy in the worst way, but right now, I do store extra diapers and wipes in my car. I also try to keep extra shirts, pants and underwear in there as well in case we have a spill or accident on the way to school.
If you follow these tips, you are sure to have stress free morning! Do you have something you do to make your mornings stress-free? Let me know in the comments!
