Fall and early winter in the south is a little crazy. It can go from 85 degrees to 40 in the same day. Every day is different and it can be so hard to plan your outfits accordingly. Throw in being pregnant and it can seem impossible at times. I have been known to wear a sweater to take the kids to school and by the time I pick them up, it’s so hot and I am miserable. No one wants that. This year, I have been layering and it has made life so much easier. I thought it would be fun so share some of my favorite layering pieces with y’all that can work with or without a bump because it can be really tricky figuring out how to layer during pregnancy!
I love to be comfortable during the day because I have three young kids that I am chasing around and am currently pregnant with our 4th. Comfort is key, but I do not like to sacrifice style for comfort, so I like to choose soft, cozy pieces that are also stylish! That way, I feel good and presentable but can also easily run errands, do the laundry, get my work done for the day, etc. Cuddl Duds at Macy’s has been a favorite of mine for years now. Their pieces are so comfortable and affordable! They also happen to be on sale, so now is a great time to stock up on some live-in-layers for yourself or gifts!
The easiest way to figure out how to layer is to start with a good and cool base (tank or short sleeve tee). I normally like to start with leggings and a short sleeve top or tank as the first layer, then add a cozy cardigan for when it is cooler in the mornings and evenings. That way during the afternoon I can easily take off the cardigan and tie it around my waist for later! As it gets cooler, I like to add a long sleeve tee or sweater under the cardigan. Add a cute beanie for dirty hair days and a good pair of boots and you are good to go! Layering is the best hack for the fall and winter seasons. Each piece I am wearing today is available in multiple size and color options and every piece is so incredibly soft. Figuring out how to layer can be tricky at times, but I hope this is helpful.
I love this tunic and cardigan because they both has thumb holes and are so soft but also work great with a bump! These are allĀ great whether you are expecting or not, but I have already been living in tunics and leggings during this pregnancy and these are a really great option. Bonus points for not being maternity so you can wear them before, during and after pregnancy. I sized up one in the tunic and cardigan and the tunic is great! The cardigan does fit big, so I wish I would have stayed with my true size. I recommend getting your true size in the leggings as well because they have plenty of stretch for a bump and are so comfortable.
