Fall Fashion Trends: Velvet Dress

I think the velvet trend is probably my favorite of 2017. It takes me back to the 90s when every puffy dress I owned was red or black velvet. Good times. I have so many pictures of my mom taking me to the Nutcracker in my velvet dress. It brings back many fun and special memories for me. Maybe that is why I am so drawn to it. I must admit I have gone a little velvet crazy this season. I have already bought a tank, bomber jacket, dress and bag – all velvet. Just call me the velvet-aholic.

I obsessed over this velvet dress the first time I laid eyes on it and as soon as it went on sale the first time, I bought it immediately. I have already worn it twice and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot more this season. It looks so cute paired with a blazer or cardigan for the cooler months, too! I love how gorgeous the floral print is and the darker hues that just scream “fall.” It is so comfortable and soft and I just can’t get enough of it.

I paired it with black velvet booties (under $50) but think it would also look really cute with OTK boots as the weather cools off a bit more. My Necklace is from Sugarfix and I have been wearing it almost every day for the last couple of weeks. It seems to go with everything and it a great length. I also love this cardigan so much that I ordered it in the pink color as well. It is so soft and goes with so many things. It is great for lounging around the house, or throwing over a top with jeans or this cute little velvet dress!
